This is the same argument as the last post.
weak passive bonuses do not belong within the selectable bonus areas. Here’s the basic rant, just switch the wording to towards the Caltrop.

The current level 8 bonuses are weak. pointless. They are not appropriate for the class, nor are they consistent with the class.
EM spread reduction and increased projectile speed? no.
Time to weapon heating increase? No.
Kinetic spread and speed increase? NO.
Give the proper bonuses for -
+module duration effects. ← kill this one, btw, and switch it out on all ecms that have it for + module effects increased so that it effects all ecm modules.
+module range.

The problem is that we’re forced to use them, to select them. I wouldn’t mind if they were simply those you unlock, but they have no business being where they are right now.

You are the one using the same build on everything that does not take advantage of these bonuses, so you don’t even know how good these bonuses are.

Just because I’m obsessed with a certain type of passive build doesn’t mean that the active side doesn’t change.
I’m obsessed with living and realistic type matches, so what? And I do take advantage of the bonuses, they’re just not great, and they’re really just meant for every one else’s type of build. In other words, those obsessed with dps. They’re the opposite of me. Sure, I don’t mind a bit of dps, but I will not care for it if it takes away from my ability to survive. The survivability points mean nothing.
Furthermore, while I’m obsessed with regeneration, I don’t do regeneration without a good combination with resistances.
Use Resistances, and you’ll make the regeneration points worth all the more.
I understand what those synergy bonuses are used for. I just don’t use them or think of them as useful.
I’m a pulse laser curved reflector user, after-all. The only one I am going to use is the +Time to weapon heating increase, and that’s sad. Sad.
Support ships have weapons for a reason, there different ways to support, but those that utilise most of them are the best supporters, influencing the game outcome the most.
Now that depends on the pilot.
For instance, I am a user of the brawling style. I can be a pest when need-be, but I’ll do damage while I’m at it.

I dunno about that, I’d find it hard to choose between +module effects and - energy usage, since I use the weapon system inhibitor as my main ecm module, and regeneration depends on the energy level in the capacitor. It’ll depend on the pilot.
There will also be those that choose for +range, likely those that choose to stay at a distance or who want to use their modules as soon as possible.
There really will be choice involved.
Everybody is going to take effect strenght on an ecm, if he has the choice.
The caltrop is already quite strong as it is, i really dont see why they would change that.
It’s strong because it’s a special project with an auto -10% to enemy damage, and it’s customizable.
These synergy upgrades would help to a certain degree, sure, but they’re not game-breaking.
ECM modules are already nerfed, after-all. a second use is less effective than the first, not including a proton wall or the 2c implant on the enemy ship.
