This may sound stupid, but I cannot find an option on the gaijin website to change my password. There is a reset option which gives you a loads of random numbers and letters, but no option to change it to something memorable. Anyone know how?
AFAIK, not possible to set own password.
In theory, it is more “safe”. By safe meaning, that you just make systems auto-login always, and then when the cookie / computer breaks, you just reset it for new password and repeat =D

That’s called a CAPTCHA. You must be new to the Internet, welcome!
The reset option is what you’re looking for.
That is so lame, why is there not an option to choose a memorable password. I don’t want to have to remember 7x7d9df9ghubbahubbarubbadinga698x9x chosen by Gaijin

I think he meant that reset option just resets his password to an automatically generated string instead of letting him enter his own.
@yeahalex
The randomly generated string is a probably a safer password than yours. Just use a password manager so you wont have to remember it. I prefer keepass

That must be new, I changed my password on two accounts just last week.

I wouldn’t know how exactly it works on gaijin… never tried. I was just speculating
But sometimes the password-reset and password-change are two different functions. The former gives you a randomly password in case you forget and once logged in using the generated password, one can use the latter to set his desired password. That might be the case here
Given that I used it in the past I’ll just maintain:

Even 7x7d9df9ghubbahubbarubbadinga698x9x is a borderline password. Use a password manager. Read up on rainbow tables and you’ll understand why. Of course, password managers have their weaknesses as well. Avoid the internet, that’s your best bet.
