i think i made myself clear on the topic tittle, why i cannot use “3” when im a captain in CR mode? in all other modes it works well.
If you’re the captain and the targets have that radar-esque disk on them, you can’t call them out, you can just look at them.

They only appear when you’re Captain on Recon matches. It means you can see those ships, but can’t target them. And if you can’t target them, you can’t give keyboard commands, you have to speak out “X pilots coming from right side” or something like that.

like does it happen on ships with some type of invisibility on so cap can see but not ping them etc or is something else at play?
As a captain on Combat Recon, you are able to see all enemy ships regardless of the sensor range of your team or invisibility. When that disk appears, it means that were you not a captain, you would be unable to see them. In other words, if the opponent is cloaked or beyond the sensor range of anyone on your team, you will not be able to ping said target.

Lasers are also exceptionally useful as pointers and for pulling people out of cloak.

If the player does not have the radar disk, yes.
