In a squad with a recruit, using a T1 lineup, and no games happen. At all.
What’s the point of a mentor system if you can’t get games with them?

The point is (and already known) that you cant join a T1 PvP match if you DSR is higher than 1300
We are working on solutions on this.
But because of how teams work we couldn’t even get put in a T2 match. Nobody is flying in squads in the lower tiers.

In T1 you can’t really learn anything. 100GS, 500GS, a license? Rinse, repeat 50 times… Titles, achievements…
Skill rating should be renamed to Survival/Survivor rating.
Real Skill rating should compose all the gathered stats, excluding titles, achievements and medals. I believe they don’t inluence anything and are there just for visual references.
Humorous statement:
So, in order to teach “recruits” right now, I must be one of the “dumb mentors”.
I guess I can go in T5 PVP matches or SQ without any modules, equipment and weapons, to get my rating down below 1300 and try to fight with “T1 default weapon setup” on a T5 ship. xD
End of humorous statement
Wouldn’t mentoring be far more useful to all involved if it began at T2?
Inviting seasoned players back into T1 is only going to cause more problems for those new players without a mentor.
How about protecting T1 by deciding that once a player reaches a certain progress point, they can no longer return to T1? (for example, buying a T3 ship)
Pilots would then make sure they had maxxed out their T1 ships beforehand. This would mean they’d have experience with all ship roles and have a decent synergy boost. Ive talked to T3 pilots who’d never flown several types of ships…
Personally Id like a mentor to help me progress into T3. The combination of the need for increased tactical awareness and understanding of effective ship builds, makes it a bigger ‘step up’ than the jump from T1 to T2 (IMHO).

Sounds like a good idea to me. you can’t teach much in T1 anyway
So that would explain why I cant get into t1s. I mean, what happens when some random Ace gets his sr up to 1300? Is he stuck with pve and invasion?
Sooo… Does this mean anyone with T1 GS ships gets a refund because if you don’t let them fly their T1 ships in the designated Tier that’s kinda… Well let’s just say… Wrong. And if your answer is you can still PVE then ok… Give half a refund because we can only use them for half the intended tier.
the mentoring system is currently undergoing a review as we (the GMs) mentioned this to the Devs

You can still play the ships, but you will be playing vs rank 4-6. It is fun to own people with a tier 1 tackler
Also, you can help newbs in tier 1 PvE. I’m doing that a lot. I give advices and teach them some basic tricks.
What if mentors get the ability to spectate in T1 matches but only get to see their recruit’s PoV? Essentially, recruits fly as per normal, but they have a mentor watch as they fly and fight.
I am able to play T2 no problem with a friend of mine that’s new to the game. Too bad mentoring is over after tank 4 tho. We didn’t get to use it at all, since we started playing 1 week before the mentoring system, and in 1 week he already moved on from T1.

I want this. Mentors could have the option when they launch to see recruits pov. It wouldn’t take a player slot
