Bug while EM Scatter for LRF/Covert Ops is ON

Hello! My name is YummyTummy(ingame) and I have experienced major problems while using an LRF “Steel Harpy”, duirng my time using this beast I have to began to see that the EM Scatter does not work when you want it to. For example, “Only one left?” I pushed the EM on and 3 seconds later I here the Beep of the targeting sound, and I exit sniping mode and see the EM is still on at 37.9 secods left… and then again 10 seconds later here comes a rush of bots swarming me and firing at me despite the EM scatter still ON, I have yet to figure out why they are not seeing the item is ON and I would very like an answer.

Thanks!

This not a bug. Most likely you got shot by rockets and other people can still shot at you without targetting you.

Or there has been a micro locator.

added to what omega sayed, EM scatter is just a cloack from radar, not sight; In PVP you will get shot down many times under EM scatter effect (since they can see you and shoot you). In PVE is a little different since bots only use scripts and have no eyes, so script is made to “deny” EM scatter effect if those bots saw you before entering into EM effect, or if they get too close from you (to simulate visual contact)…of course they cant lock into you unless your position is revealed by a microlocator/spy drones.

But bots are op after a previous update and can see through EM cloaks and camo. If there are bots in the match, closk is almost useless.

Bots in pve and open world see through EM field when they are too close, or activated within unbroken line of sight.

be sure to activate it when bots are locking someone else…and if you are the last one alive, you better maintain EM scatter on without interruption or you will get swarmed big time.

Rob, he was mentioning “lock on” sound. If they were cybers/biomorphs - this sound is played not when locked on, but when they decide to engage the player. For normal PvE or pirates/cartel pilots - it shouldn’t happen.

But yes - in general bots are going for the last known location of the player. If player is within certain range from that position (1k IIRC) - he will be “visually” detected and engaged.

Papi - it’s not possible to maintain the EM scatter on on that tier :stuck_out_tongue: You have to try to survive till next activation and then drift away from “visual” detection range.

Last but not least - please ALWAYS enclose logs if reporting a bug.

For the original post yeah xD i was thinking on T5 (i think TheDarkRedFox was talking about T5)

This always happens in PVE, I activate and warp back and they still target me, even though its on.

In PvE, bots will shoot and identify you at less than 1km.

They will also converge on your last known position and now it seems they will fly towards you for a set time until they are scripted to disengage. If you are the last one left they will “drift” as there is no other target. They shouldn’t be allowed to "lock on " however. Not sure if things were changed very recently.
