Bug hunt

Pilots! UMC reports that the stability of the game world has been violated by the Alien invasion!

We need to fight back and restore the usual work of Star Conflict. In this regard, we are launching an urgent contest — “Bug hunt”.

If you have detailed information about the reasons for game client crashes and you know what exactly causes them, post this information in the comments, attaching the logs of the game session. In the event that the information turns out to be significant and helps to fix the issue, you will receive 3000 xenochips as a reward.

Yours truly,
Star Conflict Team

Yes, the game stopped working when I was jumping to another sector. But this problem seems maybe like the out of memory problem. Not tested, maybe a lot of textures and objects are loaded (+ the aliens and their structures are the new objects), because I had this problem only in the sectors with aliens. Other problem could be with more offen spawning system with aliens, or the destroyed ships are not kick out from RAM properly. I believe you tested this, but if not, try look at. I only want to help, this is good game.

Seems to be linked with something loading into the Map / Present at the loading of the Map.

Happens in PVP, PVE and Open Space, linked to a player joining a session or already loaded on the Map.

Linked to Aliens / Ellydium.

My game.log was not even that generous. I still get crashes after they removed seed chips, in open space, randomly.

It’s possible to get free exp in chips to do that you only have to increase exp to 0 at the next mk.

You will get free exp in size of how much exp you have before you raised the level.

For example I have 3500/4000 exp at mk3 if I increase exp by 500 I will get a mk4 with 3500 free exp on it.

Recently I am reaching a lot more than usual in open space. Crashes can occur immediately after leaving the hangar, a few seconds after moving around in open space, or several minutes later after being in open space.

Additionally, my Seed-Chips will randomly start working again after jumping to different sectors while in open space. I have attached two crash logs.

Another bug: I can’t have 4k resolution on 4k display:

When I have full-screen I have 4k but I can’t see my cursor

When I have windowed borderless I’m forced to play in 1440p. I have Windows Taskbar on screen and game is cuted at the bottom

When I have normal windowed mode I’m still at 1440p and it’s the only way I can play.

Every time when I change resolution to 4k in any windowed mode it’s returns to 1440p.

Not sure why my game crashed in OS, but here’s the log…

[game.log](< base_url >/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=19088)

Well, it’s not trivial to hunt bugs that have been removed, but I can with great confidence tell you, that number of ships in sector that I was traveling
into (by gate or map) had significant impact on the loading time. I’m not talking about player ships only. Before that (and now) it takes me no more
than 10 seconds to jump to any sector, but while seed-chips were active, it cloud be from 30 secs to few minutes, depending on how much ships there

were in sector I was jumping into. I don’t have any crash-logs, because the game didn’t actually crash for me, I just got kicked or something. A few times
I got loaded into some sort of coma sector (img below. It isn’t from yesterday, but it looked the same.)

I don’t know if AI ships have slots for these chips, and how they’re handled. But I feel like you’re using some dynamic size objects to store the chips values, and
maybe that’s somehow mishandeled when the data are being send? Just a guess.

someone changed the nose on the taikin and wazgot, made them pointier…
in doing so, they inadvertently inverted the decor slot 1… thus the bat faces the wrong way now.
easily fixed, just restore the ship cabins to the nice, rounded shape they was before, and that should also undo what was done to the inadvertently inverted bat…

screenshot-191223-200625.jpg.e261d2002b96c9132ba9f15bcb5755fa.jpg

since changing the nose of the ship did absolutely nothing, I find creating problems for yourselves to be rather inexcusable. I might add that the only design flaw in taikin’s design remains (the panels inside are backwards, you can read them from THIS side, so the pilot sees the reverse, kinda like looking at a window sign from inside a store)

My game client often crashes when I try to jump to a sector in Open Space. The game crashes, I lose my Iridium, and the ammunition bought for the rare Monocrystals. It eems to be the problem is caused by typing anything on a keyboard when the OS zone is opening. This bug manifested many times today, especially in zone Eastern Mining Station.
