one of the biggest issues so far in this beta is the fact that i play this alone and every time i get someone else on my team i know that the other team is a squad and 99% of the time it’s known to be a loss before it starts. if people want to squad up in beta- great - but let them wait for another squad to fight against. most of the players now are of multiple nationalities and cant communicate with each other. putting squadded people against a bunch of individuals is just a waste of time, might as well leave fight before it starts and grab other tier ships and start another match, simply to avoid repair costs.

Yes at the moment the player base is too low. But if you are able to speak english you are free to join the beta teamspeak, during several times we make squad flights with 3-8 people and it is a lot of fun.
Yes, im in the Error’s TeamSpeak sometimes and its very funny, I also recommend you to play with other english speakers beta testers in this Teamspeak.
I noticed SOR_PREMIUM_etc text there when I tried to form a squad and I don’t frigging want to believe we have to buy premium in order to play with a friend. That’s so low. What’s the case?

Well, but it is easy to get 100 gold and to create a squad. The squad stays active even if your 1 day premium is gone, but dont leave the squad than it is gone.

I highly recommend rethinking this squad thing. Premium only squad -method now gives too much advantage to premium players (three to EIGHT people in squad? Holy…) and as a customer (yes, I use money to good f2p games) I say that won’t be a good strategy in the long run. If new players feel that you must pay in order to win it simply drives most of people away. There are good ways to implement micro-payment systems, and bad ways. Premium that gives extra credits and exp is naturally acceptable. Premium guns and system likewise ONLY if those wont ruin the balance. Worst example (on my opinion) of wrongly planned free to play concept is Battlefield Play4Free, which begs money for every action. Want to buy a new gun AND keep it? Give us dollars. New über-equipments? Give us dollars. Want to change class? Give us dollars. Want to add fancy moustache to your character? Give us dollars. This system was a joke.
The original idea of players earning a bit gold for won battles was an very, very good idea although it didn’t make it to later versions which is a real shame. This feature is for example in Lotro ("If you want, you may shop in the in-game store for extra quests, cosmetic gear, rare mounts, experience boosts, buffs and more. You choose how much or how little you spend. You can even earn points to spend in the store just by playing the game, unlocking items in the store at no cost to you!") and believe me, it works WELL. Lotro is now making more money with carefully planned optional micro payments than what it did with monthly fees…
Back to problems in premium only -squads. WG realised this in their game WoT: at first squads were premium only, but after some serious feedback two person squads were free for all, but premium user coud invite two persons to his squad. Everyone can use small squads and premium squads of three players aren’t too OP in that game so it works without breaking balance in random fights. Maybe it could also work here - free squads (maybe 2), premium squads (maybe 3-4). Clan matches are a different story but here we are talking about random matches.
I may use harsh words but summa summarum: I pay for good games, even f2p if those offer what I want. SC is a game I want to play & support if it doesn’t go to the Battlefield Play4Free -path.
I also thought squads only for premium would be bad, but you get 5 gold per win and you only need 100 gold for a one day license so you can create a squad and keep it as long as you want(by the way squads are limited to 4 persons so they dont ruin the balance to much). For premium ships, they are between the first and 2nd ship you can buy so there is a good balance.
only bad thing about keeping a squad is that once you are in a squad if the other members are offline you cannot join queue , you get a message that says mm failed .

You can kick the others from squad and reinvite them later. You only need premium to create a squad, the rest is free.
In my opinion, it should be free squad and premium squad. One free that allows to create a squad for 2 or 3 members, and if you want to join a bigger squad, then I see logic that it would require that someone have licence.
In any case, only four members for squad is not enough I think, but we have to wait to see the final squad system and the clans.
Just so you know, paying gold for squads is a bad idea, will turn many people away. You should at least let 2 person groups be free like WoT.

The squad will only be closed when every player leaves.
So it would be possible to make multiple squads from one person with premiumaccess ^^ So I could ask someone to make me a squad, nice
