Here you can discuss your preference according to the appearance and the balance of the maps and choose your favorites for ruthless space battles! Please choose your favorites according to the game mode “Capture the Beacon”.
I feel that Dreadnaught Debris is heavily biased towards the team spawning away from the dreadnaught carcass. On any game mode, i’ve seen the team on that side win more than 75%. The reason is the layout of the asteroids around the center area. The team spawning at the dreadnaught usually clutter themselves at the asteroid just in front of their middle beacon, being an incredible easy prey for any kind of weapon shot from the other side. I myself felt this advantage vs disadvantage on this map.
I don’t know which one is which between Eastern and Northern mining station, so no vote. Also forgot which ones the Threshold and Source are.
Those others i know seem fairly ok and balanced.
Favourite of all time: Ancient Ruins of Thar. I would love it even more if it had A LOT MORE structures!

There have been a lot of suggestions, but with no communication, we just keep getting asteroids thrown at us. That’s how i feel about the ‘maps’ subject.
Got suggestion about that asteroids, MAKE THEM MOVE. so they are not static. it can be some random movement or make circle around battlefield.This will improve dynamic of game, lots of people just hide behid asteroid and shoot.
You can also make them colide one another and if you are in that place when it happens, SAY GOODBYE.
Definitely NOT outpost and dreadnought debris, these 2 are least suited for tournaments
Since tournaments are done in Capture the beacon mode T3+, I believe map shall not be wide open (lava spines) - easily controllable with 13500 sensor range on a recon, eliminating any “tactical” moves, forcing whole thing into stand-off in one place
In the same time, map should not be small (Eastern mining station), so i vote for Ice reef and Pandora Anomaly and Ancient Ruins (even though this map is wide open, the size of it is huge opening up possibilities even if the enemy does have a vision on you.)

Ice Reef has a LOT of hiding places, so does that asteroid field one. I get lost on those 2 maps ALL. THE. TIME!

This idea is already known, but as stated in the past: it would require a lot more resources and we want to have a game that also runs on weaker systems.
Someone knows a link with actual photos of each map? I don’t quite remember each one by the name…

I have noticed space junk and asteroids move in Ice Reef
I would prefer Ice Reef, Threshold and Ancient ruins.
They allow different tactics and have enough cover.
Imo an absolutely no-go is “the source” since it is way too small… might end up in a boring campfest.
Same seems to occur quite often on dreadnought debris.
I voted for Ancient Ruins , Dreadnought Debris, and Devils Jaw
i think if you are a LRF you would hate Ice reef , and for ints it is heaven. Alot depends on which class you play, so far i feel the forum is dominated by int pilots, maybe int pilots tend to be more social than the sniper LRF pilots.
I also see the happiness amongst the guard ship pilots after they have been empowered and the ints cant stop complaining cause they cant go around messing guards up so easily anymore, its cool, just hope more pilots voice their concerns
I wish there was a Capture the Beacon for Ancient Ruins. Would make for a good fight on that one. I know Detonation on that map (which I rarely see) is always a good fight.

Yeah after I posted that I started thinking, and I remember playing it like maybe 2 times, and they were good battles. I personally like Ancient Ruins for all the match types. There is good cover, and also some good wide open areas. Makes every ship type work good on that map.
