Best actual build for Kite (0.9.6)

Hello Gentlemen,

 

I have been reading through the forums but most subjects on this matter are outdated due to patches changing modules funtion and availability. I’m looking for advice on the best possible build for a T3 Kite Covert Ops. My playstyle is, as intended, hit and run, interdict and disturb enemy operations until heavies arrive. I need to get the most possible DPS out of it and a decent resistance just to reach the nearest asteroid field if things go messy lol. Will post later screenshots of my actual build so you can point out what to remove and what to add.

Mesh, there ain’t much about the Kite in all seriousness. It’s only possible fit i can think of is speed. Period. It’s squishy as hell.

Not gonna say more cuz i didn’t fly ceptors in a LOOONG time. But that’s the general idea behind the Kite currently.

I’m not too bothered, really. The ceptors I fly usually have 10k+ hp.

Thank you guys! will try and let you know… Maybe I’ll do better buyng a Ricasso and start from there? Cause “as is” this inty is fun but has 3k survivality less than their other faction counterparts… paper ship :frowning: I’ve seen ricasso get away or win more often than Kite, but i like Fed ships…

What is your flying style? I need to gauge on that. Intys are usually for people with fast machines and have tight handling on there ship.

Why thermal?

Only weapons that reliably hit interceptors AND hurt are Railguns - Gauss/Assaults/Coils and Shrapnels from other good intys

Pulsar you should not take more then 1-2 hit from pulsar

Jericho torpedo -? No

Mine field? - No

Lazers? LoL

Plasma Web - w/e

Proximity mines? rarely, but these are always christmas surprises :))

Oi. KOSTY. I specifically go after frigates and I like tanking the pulsar.

If you get hit with any weapons besides pulsar and mines. Your doing it wrong.

Sure having kinetic resistance but dog fighters are rare.

I say if not thermal. Stack EM. As my inty now has 0 resistance on shields for EM. Opps. Should not have said that.

 If you wanna tank pulsars fly recons or ECM bubbles itself, but man don’t tank pulsar with a cov op, especially on federation intys that you prefer. And if you want to tank EM torps you gotta go Empire, trying to tank EM on Feds/Jericho will sacrifice a lot from other areas. I still don’t see a point in tanking into thermal dmg

The only other thing I can think of is small missiles. After all they’re the only guided missiles for intys. 

If you’re a fed inty, it’s speed or death.  For Jericho and Empire you get much better tanking and can go with surviving and control.

Thank you all for your replies guys. My flying style is as I understood inty should work for the team. Surprise attack on most dangerous ships for teammates trying to achieve objective at hand (LFR, Snipers, Guards, Engies). I have no problem driving the ship around as 70% of my playing time I get no lag and my pc supports the game very well.

 

I’d go in cloacked or hiding behind structures until I’m on my weapon range, then apply white noise, Valkyre (is that the name?) for buff up  main weapon and fire missiles. Before target realize what is happening (if surprise was successful) I engage plasma web and keep spamming on small missiles… Sometimes it’s a target destroyed but most of the time just an important assist. I don’t care much about personal stats in the form of DSR or K/D ratio. My rewards are my medals and the score as it means I did good for the team.

 

Tankig thermal makes sense as almost everyone is on lasers now, just few kinetic weapons on games and with actual crosshair it’s harder to hit so, I did that and is working pretty well. Regarding speed will stack another 5% booster as I lack the loyalty with required faction to have them MKIII. I really can’t hit with Shrapnel! Dunno why, same goes for Singularity Cannon. Are weapons I’m not comfortable with and have trouble hitting with them. Lasers with Crit stacked up are working pretty well though, and was thinking on using Plasma Blasters as everyone i see is tanking for thermal XD

 LOL! XD I might learn one trick or two from you I’m sure XD Anyway thanks to all of you I have it how I wanted it. Can’t ask more from this little beast. I now die only when get greedy XD
