Been a while since I played; did they amend the grind/tier MM?

Last I played was a long time ago when they bumped up the prices between tiers significantly, and somehow thought it was a good idea to put T1 ships against T2 and even T3 ships. (In WoT this worked somewhat because lower tiers tended to be faster and could make viable scouts, but the progression for all stats has massive leaps between tiers in this game so that policy doesn’t work)

I wanted to like this game, I wanted to throw money at it. And I was going to until they buggered the matchmaking and made grinding for pretty much anything a gigantic chore, way beyond what Wargaming’s done. (The same here applies to War Thunder)

match making looks fine. but the grind … estimating 30 days to get my R12 ship using my R9 ones

Prices are still steep, MM hasn’t had any announced changes that I’m aware of but seems to be working as before, rarely putting ships out of tier in a game, grind is somewhat better than the lowest point, stiil not as good as when missions gave loyalty. Don’t spend your GS trying to get greens when looting.

Matchmaking is still mixed-tier, but it’s gotten a little better. (Emphasis on little)

All ships are now sold with a complete set of Mk. I modules, which has jacked the prices up by several million. Despite player outcry, no option to buy naked ships has been implemented.

Ship progression tree has been restructured, forcing players to buy more ships to get the ones they want. It’s no longer possible to buy only the Armada Fighters and skip over stock and Vanguard variants.

If by “rarely” you mean ‘literally always’.
