[Balance] Microwarp Drive

Hi

Today i have witnessed a T2 imperial interceptor crashing onto a T2 imperial frigate with full hull/shield using the microwarp drive and killing it instantly in the process

Is this a bug? This all happened in combat reconnaissance and the frigate in question was our captain, so you can imagine how that ended up, imo i believe this tactic can be too well exploited for easy kills in this mode.

That is known tactic for a quite a long time. thats way if for some reason captain want to be frigate, then he should still be playing, not sitting afk… Captain have to move!!!

Indeed. Besides, is isn’t the easiest thing to pull off. Just a slight movement on the frigates part and you usually miss.

Why would anyone be the captain in a Frigate anyway lol, most idiotic thing ever.

wouldn’t a simple emergency barrier make you survive anyway

Nop, crashing goes through anything and everything.

You can even kill someone with crashing even if he does have the actual proc on at that moment.

So someone procs = Just crash at him, he is at low HP anyway when the proc happens so it’s a quaranteed kill :stuck_out_tongue:

i don’t thinks it’s unbalanced…

as said you should stay in motion and if you are a good marksman you actually can hit the inter while warping…the inter itself doesn’t have any means of offence or defence if it’s warping

there is (was?) also a way to pull ships out of warp but i won’t tell you…otherwise i’d be in trouble taking down camping captains

the crash is at a speed >800 m/s: as far as i know in the game engine itself it is said that crashes over 800 m/s will result instantly in death no matter what

You can still use the collision compensator to survive the crash or the engine inhibitor module on the frigate.

Just… no.

And why would anyone fit a Collision Compensator on a Frigate? Apart from Fed Frigs.

I understand, but shouldn’t hull Kinetic Resistance play a part in this? More than modules that have hardly any reason to be fitted on a ship ( engine Inhibitor is actualy only from drop in T2)

Nop.

Collision damage is not affected by resistances.

Not related, but collisions don’t go through Tachyon Cocoon. Had several pilots try to ram me, and kill themselves while I have cocoon up. one of the better features of that ability.
