AirSuicide, I’m going to put this bluntly. You’re xxxx crazy if you think frigs need buffs.
I’m not going to pretend to understand how the devs imagine the game is supposed to be played, but all things point towards frigates being support ships.
That means you aren’t supposed to be a one-man death machine; if you want that, go back to T1.
I’ve seen plenty of frigate pilots be successful in T3 by being close-range support ships or beacon defenders. Yes, they die, but so does everyone else. Stop complaining that the world is out to get you, and that weapons that were meant to counter frigates are actually effective at their job.

Im not qqing about dieing.
Im simply saying a fighter or inty should not be able to kill a frigate BEFORE it has a chance to defend itself. When an inty can perma lock a frig into death and the frig cant do anything but sit there and die, something is wrong.

Fighters have a similar issue with CC, should they be buffed too? Now that I think about it, Interceptors also have issues with being CC’ed; we should buff them too! The problem is clearly with the CC being too strong, not with any single ship type being weak.
I don’t see the reasoning as to why the OP thinks empire frigs should do more main gun damage than federation, if any buffs were even to be considered.
Tbh I think frig damage is fine. I do feel that frigs in higher tiers melt a little too quick in order to provide support buffs and debuffs, and that’s not even being focus fired.
Remember I am talking about T4 here and High T3.
- Close combat ships generally don’t stick around us frigs,
You say it’s my team, you might be right, but to this II need to reply… What team?
- The real problem is the fact that both can disable you for about 10 seconds if staggard
Its the reason we need that massive range on our main weapon so that if were paying attention we will see you coming and have at least a few seconds to damage you. Because once you get on top of us generally speaking we are Fraked. And no one is going to babysit us unless were the captain.
As I’ve said before also, if purples dropped more often this might not be such an issue because of the stat variances
- Close combat ships are the front line. You have to follow the front line movement so you can get them your buffs and they can protect you if s1 tries to flank you. Your mark 3 buffs have 4.3 km range. If you stay far from others you gonna die. Stay at least buff range from the main force in recon. (not the suicidal ceptors, hit and run fighters) move closer to the beacons in domination so your team have benefit from you and you can count on them to kill s1 who tries to kill you in short range.
- As i said before: fighters have only ONE stun (module and shooting denied, not total stun), that is the 3.3 sec (max) ion warhead missile, which is a medium size missile so everyone can use them.
Ceptors have 2 modules: stasis generator (total stun, can do nothing for 4 sec), ion beam (cant shoot, use modules for 6.8 sec)
Almost everyone have problems with these modules.
“Purple drops” have nothing to do with these. Everyone has the same chance to win one, and they are just slightly stronger than the mark 3 equipments.
