Heavy Plasma is WAY too powerful, it does triple the damage of any other weapon when fit properly, At T3 and T4 even with 150 Resists in EM or more on a frigate it will kill you in 4-6 shots.
There is nothing you can do to fight these ships either unless you are also fit with heavy plasma. Plasma in general seems to be the standard weapon for most ships. This in itself should state that plasma is far too powerful or that there is not enough incentive for using the other weapons.
I see Jericho, Empire and Fed frigs / fighters and inties all using it. Each race should get a bonus to its specific weapon (Except Fed and Plasma) that makes each Races main weapon on par with Plasma.
To me this states a serious Imbalance, and I propose the following:
IE -
* Empire Lasers need a damage boost. (Much larger the the 10% which is for Main weapon not the racial laser, Change the bonus to Laser only and up it to 25% damage bonus)
* Fed - Leave as is Plasma is already too powerful
* Jericho - Rail damage is “almost” comparable to Plasma However I suggest increasing the Re-fire rate on all ships for rail guns to 10% or 15%
These changes should encourage players to use their factions Races weapon instead of simply seeing nothing but plasma everywhere.

Seriously, they nerfed the barrel speed, thy nerfed the charge so hard it is useless now. Only thing you can hit with it is frigates.
Plasma has the slowest projectile speed, so the acceleration coil change was another nerf for it (except for frigs ofc.)
You have to be xxxx to die to Heavy Plasma, any ship that is moving is impossible to hit with Heavy Plasma.

I’m talking about Frigates, as the post says, If you had read the Post, You would know this, and since both of you are referring to fighters and inties (which I have killed several with Heavy plasma) Yea moving they are difficult to hit, not impossible. Frigates however You can’t dodge Heavy plas at 4k let a lone 2.5k Meters. You don’t move fast enough to beat the refire rate. And if its a fighter or inty using it, your screwed.
On another Note Generally, “I Fly Frigates”. and 90% of my deaths are to ships wielding plasma weapons even though my EM resists on my hull (I fly empire) are through the roof.
And yes I realize they could be useing the Ken mod. Even so though it seems the weapon system needs to be tweaked somewhat.
And the racial Changes are just a good idea anyway to encourage people to use weapon systems besides plasma. Which I’ve noticed is the current standard on 80% of ships. This post was to point out that Imbalance and change the racial stats to fix it, more then it was specifically about nerfing plasma.

Dude your such a troll, I never said that I said they can do 3-7k per hit, really… You troll about every thread I make just because you don’t understand basic game mechanics and get bent when someone corrects you.
Heavy Plamsa is a anti frigate setup. Anyone running those is not going to be able to hit a inty or fast turning fighter. Seems like rocks paper scissors issue.
And this game is still a team based game. Any ceptor would love to kill a heavy user (free kill for them) so you should rely on them, as they rely on you for hull/shield/energy regen/repair, anti-missile system.
