I quit the game because it became stupid when you could free look and shoot anywhere around you making it ridiculously stupid because you’d chase after an interceptor and he’d fire backwards at you.
I was wondering if they finally decided to fix this or if they kept it.
You would fly behind a blind side of a light fighter and all of their guns would still be tracking you. When it’s like this what’s the point of dog fighting? You just point and click. A turret on the underside of a ship shouldn’t be able to shoot through the ship to attack a target above it. etcetc
My guess is they haven’t changed this then from your response.
turrets cannot shoot on their blindside. that’s underneath and exactly from behind on most ships. nothing stops them from rotating their ships around ofcourse.
There are inherent blindspots on all ships based on where their turrets are mounted. However, skilled pilots may give off the illusion of being able to shoot in literally every direction due to how they fly and built-in options such as “Auto-Alignment” that, when turned off, allows a player to fly in one direction and aim behind his ship.
I think this guy is talking about the time (long long time ago btw) when all ships had 360 deg firing arc, and you cold use something like a “Free aim” we have right now and shoot ALL your turrets anywhere, it got changed at some point :)) All frigs had 6 turrets back then as well I did not personally witnessed stuff like this, I came with the steam release, but thats what i got from diggin the forums.
