I was wondering about the Aliens, especially their strange “moon” with the two lightbeams coming out. It actually looks like its partially destroyed. The humans didnt do it. so who did? So perhaps the Aliens are in big trouble? What do you think? Aditionally, is it not strange that they are attacking so viciously, again and again, while being driven back all time? perhaps they are fleeing from something even worse?

srry it’s me that’s scaring them. I’m jist dat bad.
mmmmhmmmm
Actually, it’s probably the PRECURSORS!!! GASP.
I’m looking forward to seeing precursor zones. those will be awesome.
Personally i find the notion that they may not actually be ships interesting… The game does mention it, that the defiler might not be a ship but a life-form. That means the predator could be too. The hunter doesn’t follow the same visual pattern and the biomorphs are katanas.
I’d like to see more biomorph ship types.
Also, if you look in unknown space, there is one of those bent precursors structures in the distance
Yes the game does mention briefly a small hint that the defiler may not be a ship (kinda makes sense… thr thing looks to have a giant mouth on the front) but I also agree with ArcTic that the precursors may have somrthing to do with the aliens. The mong lore involving the precursors isn’t exactly forgotten among the community, in one specific area is destroyed station’s lore entry:
"Following the discovery of the precursor station burial ground, the Troy System has been thoroughly investigated by independent expeditions of several corporations. However, thr debris group № 256 was discovered by accident by an Imperial supply ship in 4620. A research cruiser was sent to study the artifacts found during the expedition. A day after the researchers reached their goal, all comms went silent. Causes of the accident are still unknown.
The basic theory of the chance discovery of the station and the subsequent disappearance of the research cruiser is that it’s possibly one of the affecting the structure of space and time as these devices have been commonly been found in a variety of sectors with traces of the presence of this ancient race. Now the struggle is not afoot not only for the control of the station, but also for the research cruiser, full of the most advanced technology."
Basically the point is: The precrsors had technology which could alter space and time, plus the fact that the aliens utilize portals to reach a sector… well just maybe the aliens are with the precursors. I only say this as in unknown spae there is a precursor ship in the background (if you don’t know what one looks like then go to the map: ancient ruins) except thr one in unknown space looks to be mostly intact… mostly. Now another thing of note is that the precursors mysteriously disappeared, which in most cases of a disappearance the person who disappeared is usually _attacked _meaning that perhaps there was a war that took place rather early on in Star Conflict’s timeline where the precursors were eventually were driven out of the universe (unknown space is supposedly another dimension or somewhere, which could be where they retreated to).
Anway, I’ve had enough typing for now and I’m tired as heck… but yeah, am I onto something or just a raving lunatic?
And the roots of Bio-Morph are Living-Object (roughly) so they are probably definitely a living thing, and the Katana-like appearance might have been a way to try to communicate with the humans.(?) I still would be the kind of researcher that would drill holes all over a Hunter to try to find its “brain” so I could take it over~
No, the bio-morph suggests biological metamorphosis, the katana was a ship model to start on, it has structures grown out of it. Almost like an alien life form has eaten the hull away and replaced it with organic material in the same pattern. This would explain why thermal hurts them and kinetic doesn’t. Shoot a tree and it absorbs the bullet, use a high power laser on a tree and you’ll cut through it eventually. EM weapons should to, they aren’t technically EM but plasma, plasma is at millions of degrees C. Not sure what a true EM weapons would be, it’d have to be an EMP shockwave gun, or a nodachi.
I don’t think the precursors exist anymore. Personally, i think the hunters etc are what’s left after some horrific mutating disease wiped most of the race out or turned them evil. Nothing of the precursors etc fits the biomorph/hunter races, they’re either descendents or conquerors.
Ever taken a minigun to a tree? No? I thought as much…
Flick a tree with your pinky enough and you’ll cut through it *eventually*. XD
And EM could just be a giant pulse-type canon that lets out an extremely harsh magnetic field in that direction…? And I don’t see the harm in that. (Aside from electrical damage and some hull bending if it was the right type of material)
I was also thinking that the aliens could just be a manifestation of some space virus? It looks like it could well be. And that would also explain the Katana ships; they were infected and taken over. (Still doesn’t explain why they still have so many. They must have taken over a Katana factory or something.) *OR REPLICATED THEM*

not sure you could make a true EM weapon IRL… it’d be plasma in one form or another…
Flick a tree with your pinky enough and you’ll have a bloody stump on your hand. A laser burns through the wood

sounds reasonable, like what I said
tbh i think it’s more to do with the dev’s not being bothered to add more biomorph ships. They’re all the same. I’d like to see a biomorph inquisitor

It’s a cool looking background with no meaning.
It could be just another planet they’re destroying.
If you look at the planet in Tracking Station, it looks a LOT like it’s turning into the planet seen in Unknown Space. Dunno how accurate this is, but it seems like educated speculation. There could be some serious trouble brewing for the Empire…
Also, the description for Special Operation says the Defiler turns humans into Biomorphs. So the small ships encountered across the sectors aren’t aliens, they’re converted humans. The only true aliens that we have encountered so far are the Defilers.

Hunters and predators are also true aliens. Only Biomorphs are “infected” ships. Most likely Cybers infected by some kind of virus.
