i didn’t find any other posts mentioning this specifically, and the rules are this:
_ 6. During the game, the following is prohibited: _
6.1. Use of any software and / or hardware automation that allows for gameplay without the intervention of the player.
6.2. Use of any software and / or hardware automation to significantly simplify gameplay.
6.3. Use of any software and / or hardware automation, allowing you to assign more than a single command to one key. Whereby two similar commands, following one after the other, are considered different commands.
but i want to use joy2key to map my joystick for motion, meaning single commands for each input, it does not give an undo advantage (just more immersive for me) and does not automate anything
while this seems fair to me, i know some games are very strict with third party software, and ban on detection of these types of programs running.
Is it possible for me to get a definitive answer on whether this program is allowed or not?
If you are mapping a joystick, it should be fine, however best wait for a GM - you always have this thread to come back to. Because you are still using player input and you are simply mapping a control device to the input I don’t see why you can’t use it.
What they care about mostly is probably aimbots and “farmbots” or afk bots.
As long as you aren’t automating more than one action per voice command I guess. Eg you could tell your ship to “roll” and it will use the e key to roll. But you probably not allowed to make use e, a and space with the one command. Maybe see if mod will answer here again
I suppose it would be good if you can tell your recon to microwarp by saying “warp”. After all we do have the ship AI woman telling us or shields are down
You could also (if you havent already) keybind pitch controls to the direction keys of the joystick or to the other analog (right rocker) for further movement and aiming control (make sure you activate free aim while doing so, that way the ship will maintain steady course when you stop pressing direction keys).

Papitas Garcias por vos adviso pero ne es lo que necessito. Thank you for your advise but it not the range of motion that I am
seeking. The joystick allows me to pilot in a skill that would have the keyboard fingers tangle into a knot. When it comes right
down to it. I am at a hug disadvantage to a mouse user who simply moves the pointer on target no matter which way the ship is
pointing is hitting his mark. my ship has to be in proper alignment. The joystick mode somehow disables the free aim. Ive tried
different ships and settings. I do practice with the mouse to practice and know what others know but when it comes to pvp i am
Im not sure if i understood you, but what i sayed was refering to what OMalley_ sayed (using joystick with left hand and mouse with right hand). Normal control makes the ship to follow your sight (where you aim), wich means that whenever you aim left (for example), your ship will turn left at a certain degree. Free aim is a feature that when you activate it (its not on by default, cannot be toggled i think), the ship stops following your cursor, wich translates into steady aim and possibility to maintain course while still shooting ships that arent necesary in front of you. You can also keybind pitch keys (pitch is controlled by the cursor normally) to move your ship separately from your cursor, and also activate free aim to fully suppress the cursor control over pitch. It is clear that in most occasions you will want to use all guns on where you are firing for maximum damage (therefore your ship must face your target), wich is the reason why this game works this way with mouse control over pitch…but there are a few occasions where you will prefer having a separate control of your pitch and your aim (that means not using all guns).
This video shows pretty well the pitch override with keybinds; RennieAsh goes with EM scatter field and control pitch while aiming at the same place, which is usefull if you want to be ready to shoot after you pass an obstacle, keep firing a ship and drive your own cloacked LRF to a different position, shoot a ship and maintain adaptive on without need to orbit it (or maintaining distance), and some other handy uses you can came up with:
