I intend to buy 3 DLC, Soldier of Fortune, Elite Pilot, Jolly Roger, but need your advice.
1st of all, what I regard as nice in those packages is this (besides ships and gold) and I expect this to be real permanent:
Soldier of Fortune: +1 Artefact Scanner
Elite Pilot: permanent 10% on Loyalty and Synergy, max. storage capacity for modules etc
Jolly Roger: permanent 10% on Money/Loot
And in total a lot of gold, all together 38500, which I intend to use for buying faction ships once I have the level.
Whats the difference in VIP status Gold and Platin ?
I read in a player forum that VIP status in those DLCs is limited to a certain amount of time. 1 month, 6 month. What does this exectly mean ? Whats limited in regards to time ? From the description it sounds as if all the Boni (10% to Loyalty, Synergy, …) were permanent. Also I think max. storage capacity and that those premium ships belong to me permanently. Is this right ?
The only time limited item is a License that comes with those DLCs, Licence provides extra economy bonuses in game (no in battle advantages) such as higher money gains, synergy gains, xp and such. Licence can be purchased in game for Gold coins, it comes in:
1/3/7 days; 1/3/6 months
as an example 3 months licence cost about 7k gold.
All benefits from DLCs are stackable (such as Synergy gains you will have 30% increased gain)
Keep in mind it is still in BETA stage, in last month we witnessed some shakeup in mechanics/balances so things are getting changed around sometimes. Premium ships were not excluded from those changes, there were nerfs/buffs to them. So keeping all of this in mind.
As much as I respect your opinion of the Jericho T3 Commands, I have to disagree. Yes Katana has better capacitor slotting, but the Dragonfly has a 20% reduced Command Module energy consumption, which comes in quite handy, whereas the Strong has Missile reload rate reduction, which is meh. The mitigation of a capacitor slot to a cpu slot enables the pilot to immerse their ship however they please as well. The Dragonfly is the definition of being “balanced” as far as Commands go. For those that like “extreme” fits, I can see the resentment towards Dragonfly, but I quite enjoy my current build (even more so once I unlock R8 Vanguard in the next few minutes).
All DLC bonuses are permanent and stack, exept the “Premium License” which has a limited time(But also stacks if you buy other packs or extend premium in-game)
All ships are subject to change, and you may or may not be reimbursed if they get changed.(Most likely not)
I would suggest waiting for another steam sale before you buy the DLC’s, but sadly I imagine it will be quite a while before we get another sale. So perhabs it is better now if you want those bonuses.

But Katana has 1 more shield and 1 less cpu, and Imo for a Jericho command shield > cpu. Also Katana is like 30 faster…

I already said about the shield and cpu slot lol. The way I see it, one method of fitting the Dragonfly is for it to be resistant to control effects as well as moderately beefy shield and energy, while still having a 2nd slot for utility. And like I said, one of its trade-offs is the reduced command mod consumption, which actually helps a great deal in terms of energy management.
Edit: I am in no way saying that “Dragonfly is best,” or anything of that nature, just that it has a different potential load outs than the Katana, and Strong, and shouldn’t be underestimated.

Thanks for your answer. You say extra economy bonuses in game like money gains, synergy gains come in 1/3/7 days, 1/3/6 months and are purchased “in-game in gold”.
Can it be the case that we talk about 2 different ways of getting bonuses ? One “in-game” and time limited and the other by buying DLCs via steam shop where some components claim to be permanent according to product description ?
Concrete questions again:
Elite Pilot: permanent 10% on Loyalty and Synergy ? Really no time limitation ?
Elite Pilot: unsure whether this includes also “max. storage capacity” for modules ? Really no time limitation ?
Jolly Roger: permanent 10% on Money/Loot ? Really no time limitation ?
Soldier of Fortune: additional (+1) Artefact Scanning ? Is this time limited, they do not say permanent ?
Ships I learned might be matter of change in the future in terms of module slots and what not. But would I really loose a complete ship without getting at least another one of same value reimbursed ?

yeah as Funky said all of these are permanent, the only thing is that on top of all of these bonuses DLCs have a premium Licence included (i do not remember durations, i think it was different for each dlc, actually i am not sure if every dlc even providing a licence. I remember getting 25 days license with one of the DLC myself)
That License is the only temporary thing that comes with DLC and in no way you are forced to buy it, but with it your progression is much faster through moneys/xp/ship levels and ranks and it STACKS on top of the regular DLC benefits. If you plan on investing into 3 DLCs (btw i myself own 4 3 original ones +1 pirate) Best spending for that gold is prem Licenses, don’t rush buying premium modules right away. Oh btw don’t buy anything for gold in T1, you gonna advance from T1 in a matter of hours
Do you mean premium ships in general or only those in the packages ?
And why, in regards to technical issues, worse stats or what ?
Maybe because it doesnt train the normal path of ships towards TL5 ?
It doesn’t matter if they’re DLC or “bottom row” premiums. The effects are the same.
Some T3 premium ships are better when there’s no R9 equivalent free ship, such as a tackler, a recon, or empire gunship. For the most part, they’d slightly below a fully ranked ship of it’s type and faction.
Premiums give extra free synergy, but still gain base synergy you can pay more to unlock for other ships. I currently have over 2 million synergy locked on just premiums. It would cost almost 14,000 GS to make it usable to advance ships. It would cost me about $37.50 to unlock the synergy on my premiums. I just stopped playing them.
If you want a DLC, look at the amount of GS, if it comes with any free premium time, and other bonuses. Ignore the ships.
Still the main issue according to my quick calculations is (still) money. At least after T3.
So premiums are used to farm money, as farming synergy is useless, as you anyway don’t have the money to buy the next ship after getting enough synergy ^.^
But yes, premiums don’t offer much when playing in tiers below T3, as you gain the money easily for the next cheap ships while flying for synergy.
Oh btw don’t buy anything for gold in T1, you gonna advance from T1 in a matter of hours
Scrap that, you gonna reach bottom of T3 in a matter of hours. Last night i went and started leveling my jericho fig tree (all the way from 1st ship in T1) in matter of 2 hours i had a R5 at half synergy to get R6. License ftw.
The T3 DLC ships do provide you with slightly better credit reward gains than that of T4 ships. If you’re interested in spending some time farming equipment (or ship funds) for a period of time before you continue with your progression, consider using those ships. And yeah, licenses ftw ( that 180 day sale).
xkostyan dont forget credits…in the beginning its quite hard to get them…
Yes you are right, i overlooked it, i had all my modules from old times, so i didn’t have to pay for anything, except for the ships itself, but it looked like cost of the ships didn’t set me back, after lvling that tree i had about the same amount of money.
