well TESLA and i vsed and i still like it. he said it’s pretty sound. i killed him some too. :D

But even then, that is 1v1, that scenario is different then having a team, remember that.
Its definatly good for using to 1v1 opponents, could use some tweaking though (EM missiles was a good start). I was using a mid range assault rail gunship build, and if I was able to keep up in kills, then it could be improved some. I’d work on getting higher alpha damage and a more beefy tank overall. Still was one of your better builds, so keep up the testing.
projectile speed boost ammo could help but unless you’re trying to take down inties i doubt it’d be more effective than supernova and targeting big stuff. I’d personally remove the engine overdrive and give it a shield boost. fast reloading multipurpose for ECM protection and general longevity of the ship.
I’m still for supernova, booster is for the weak.

supernova + 2x pulse discharger + 3x crit damage + aiming overcharge = wtfbbq frigates
uber rotation

yeah the em missiles helped a lot! Thanks for that bit of advice!

the problem is it’s harder to hit with supernova for me which is why i take booster. I think i actually beat TESLA one round (correct me if i’m just making this up and dreamt about it lol) with it but he was using railguns so not really fair in a dogfight.

You can only put one pulse discharger on spark unless you use a passive armor to get back to the realm of energy stability.
So, supernova, verniers, pulse + eb, your favourite hull modules, crit chance + 2x crit damage. More balanced, although you can’t three-shot a naga any more, probably.
three-shot a naga
are you firing unobtanium or something?

Just keep a pocket engie around so you will be fine

No you did. I wanted to see if I could dogfight with the rails to test my own MJ build. It did well, but isn’t good enough to dogfight with a bubblesparks. I’ll mostly be using it for mid range engagements, but atleast its good to know that it will still hold out fairly well against bubblesparks

If you are going for a frig-killer, 2 pulse dischargers is the best way. The downside to build a spark specifically for killing frigs (supernova and 2 PDs), is that you suddenly lose a lot of ability to fight fighters and ceptors. I prefer my bubble-spark to be all-around effective. Sure, it doesn’t melt frigs quite as fast, but it can most certainly kill fighters and ceptors easier.
I’m trying out a bubble prom-m with three heatsinks, shared cooler and supercooled charges atm. It’s very fun! It’s the perfect frigate killer in team battles, especially since everyone is fitting kinetic resists to counter the new coil mortar spam. It shoots just under one ball per second and it can fire for 22 seconds until overheat!!! I don’t use supernova, because as Dirk says, with supernova you loose too much capability against interceptors and manoevrable jeri fighters. Even with supercooled, the balls can seem a bit too slow sometimes… I am considering putting the green ammo back in, even if it means faster overheat
As requested, i am posting my spark build. This spark is built for medium speed, edit: fair maneuverability, and good dps.
EDIT: I have changed rank 8 implant to beta accelerator rapidus (top) as i think he has a good point.
My t3 nukem is better than that xD
I have changed the build some more. i put 2x iridium heatsinks on it and did supernova. i really like it a lot now.
3700+ dps with 35% crit (when done)

Using a reasonably built example naga (I actually removed a kinetic resist and replaced with galvanized so the numbers would be bigger, but a lot of the stuff on it is green) here, with one adaptive. Number crunching not attached.
With this spark (orange gun, mods mostly greens and one purple, one white) it seems that the most realistic number is actually 11 or so without aiming overcharge, 8 or so with, and about 6 if they all crit. Assuming naga is at full health under adaptives, and that regen is negligible over the 8-15 second time frame. Add one to each to compensate, if you so wish.
I didn’t crunch the numbers too hard on this, but I’d bet that with purple kit, it’d be about 10 shots without aiming overcharge, around 6 or 7 with, and probably 5 if they all crit. Again, add one to each to compensate for the regen, if you want.
Regardless, 6 shots as compared to 3 is about five more seconds of sheer helplessness from the engi. A significant amount of time, but nothing that’s gonna end up with the spark’s death, if it pulls out right after.
And don’t nitpick about the EM missiles, I don’t usually use bubbles on it. No, you don’t get anything for guessing the gun I use. Yes, it’s usually ions.
It’s fun when the gunship runs out of attack and has to retreat with no kill ;p
all these builds rely on aiming overcharge

I’ve been noticing this as well.
However, my build does not:
i thought ur build was secret dirk! it’s also not much different than mine. only 1 cpu is different. ur also vulnerable against ecms.
