Animu and Mango

Last Exile looks gooood, thanks for share it!

Anyway, here are a couple of AMV’s I really like:

First, a Ghost in the Shell video, I love it!

Second one is from Redline, a racing movie. It’s just… amazing.

Now, one of the most epic and awesome anime I ever watch. F**ck Naruto, those kids reached their dreams.

And last but not least, Wangan Midnight. Actually, this is the only real-life based anime I know. Since the 80’s a lot of people in Tokyo raced in the Wangan highway, reaching more +300 km/h, even today there are Wangan races going even faster. In USA, since 2000-2001 people started to race in the South Florida I-95.

…I appear to have been misinformed. Need to work on my info-lurking skills.

According to this discussion, remasters already exist for numerous Gundam series. On the other hand, MSG is indeed going to get the HD treatment:Good luck reading Japanese. EDIT: I can see a date, looks like it airs April 7 this year.

Some comparisons:

Some of the die hard gundam fans still trash the series and the remake for some reason tough, so the remake might not be to everyone’s taste since it changes a few things, but I still think it’s worth rewatching it, and there is no way you would convince me spoiling my nostalgia rewatching a SD original on a 55" screen these days.

I never bothered with the SEED HD remaster before, but color me interested.

And of course SAO. That was one of the few anime that I watched the entire season in one go. I couldnt stop watching. Needless to say I didnt sleep for 48 hours.

If like like SAO you might also like Log Horizon http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Log_Horizon.

I also leave here the translation of the light novels from sao and log horizon. The first volumes of SAO are missing because now it s officialy translated by yen press.

Care to elaborate on the ‘why’?

Amazing characters, story and art are the first things to come to mind. Some say it may not be something for everyone, but you will know if you like it right away. A lot of people love it. It’s one of the masterpieces you just have to see for yourself. Also high re-watch value.

Bakemonogatari is an anime adaptation of the popular light novel series written by Nisio Isin. The anime revolves around Koyomi Araragi, a high school student who’s also a half-vampire, and his relationships with different characters and their oddities, along with the usual SHAFT head tilting we’ve all come to know and love. It’s an arc-based anime that focuses on a different character every arc, but these arcs come together as characters often overlap another character’s arc.

The main characters of ‘Bakemonogatari’ are among the most unique and complex you will find. Heroine Senjougahara Hitagi is a tsundere like half of all modern heroines in anime, but she is also 「ドS」, a sadist to an extreme degree, which is more common for side characters and rare for heroines. Our protagonist, as expected, is rather on the masochist side who takes constant verbal abuse from Senjougahara.

What makes the couple extraordinary, is that Senjougahara is often boke while Araragi is tsukkomi. Traditional Japanese stand-up comedy consists of a duo: One takes the “boke” role who says something stupid while the “tsukommi” role points out the flaws in boke’s argument, often with a violent slap in the head.

Yes, that’s right. Boke is masochist by nature and often not very intelligent, while tsukommi is sadist by nature and often more observant.

It is a true masterpiece with experimental production that actually worked. Attention was paid to the tiniest details, and a story well-told. Truly amazing direction by Shinbou Akiyuki left us with so many memorable scenes, and this will definitely be a series to be remembered.

Koyomi Araragi ranked sixth in the Best Male Character in 2009, second in 2010, seventh in 2011, third in 2012, and sixth in 2013. Meanwhile, Hitagi Senjougahara ranked seventh in the Best Female Character in 2009, fourth in 2010, eighth in 2011, and seventh in 2012

Also I’m very fond of this AMV, it really caught me.

A-ha! Now you’re busted! Resi and Neo are the same person!

A-ha! Now you’re busted! Resi and Neo are the same person!

xxxx you spotted us me.

Care to elaborate on the ‘why’?

Yes, that would have made sense. Although Neo already explained it using one of myanimelist reviews, I’ll try using my own words.

The plot is pretty interesting, the main character is a main human and main vampire student that helps people to get rid of “oddities” that are let’s say demons, that possess people. The first 15 episodes called Bakemonogatari, are divided by arks, arks more or less consist of 4 episodes (more or less), in every ark he helps a different character and it’s oddity. The second 11 episodes called Nisemonogatari are centered on the main character sisters, and how he helps them with their oddities. The second season has the same characters but with new problems, and things get really interesting there.

Things why I would recommend Monogatari. Art is very different from what you see in average animes. Shaft studio is amazing with it and I personally loved it. Music was also very fitting. This anime has very long, bizzare and deep conversations between the characters, so if you like long dialogues or monologues you will like it.

Characters are very well developed. All of them is unique in their own way. The story is not centered all the time in the main character. In some arks you won’t even see the main, other characters will be the main ones and that makes this anime unique too, because it allows you to know the character more deeply.

It has a bunch of comedy moments that are welcome, although the comedy can be weird too, but it’s pretty enjoyable.

I don’t know what else to say, I’m not good at this kind of stuff, but once you give it a try, watching the first episode, you will see if you like it. The anime is not for everyone tho, you may find it boring, you may not understand what’s going on, or you may not like the animation, weird camera angles, etc.
