I’ve been noticing this for a few days now, and after toying with my ping-aware prediction setting and aiming assist setting, it still is a problem. The aiming reticle for my projectile weapons is off of where I actually need to aim to hit. My reticle appears in one place, and when I aim there, my shots always fall short. Even with ping-aware prediction on, it is the same way.
I expect that my aiming reticle should be placed where I should aim in order to hit.
Regardless of how I was fighting an enemy (dogfight, pursuing, hitting a strafing target), the reticle was always off.
This has been happening every battle for the past few days to week.
Screenshots would be capture in the scenario, and I don’t see how the log would be helpful, but the log is attached.
I can vouch for it, whether it be a bug or not. projectile type weapons always never hit there mark if the enemy ship is moving in any direction other than directly at me unless I aim passed the reticle mark itself and aim where the mark itself would be. thus, I have to account two or more two factors, 1. where is the reticle going to be, and 2. how fast is the enemy going in that direction… It’s troublesome, and it’s the main reason I only use lasers, the exception being the heavy blasters, of which has this problem, but with that particular gun, I’m just used to it.
I seen your log. May be your internet channel is not a good. Please, use [this instructions](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/25324-info-connection-losses-high-ping-and-related-issues/) to check it.
Also, you can try various combinations of this ‘Game’ options

I have toyed with those settings, but to no avail. None of the combinations of them made it better, if anything, it made it worse.
Videos are coming, so hopefully they will give a good representation of what is happening. I don’t think that this is an internet issue, as the prediction marker is off from where my projectiles go. Even with ping-aware prediction on, it is still not where it should be (video will show this).
My aiming isn’t spot-on, but it’s hard to do when recording, since my frames drop to 20 or so, but nonetheless, there is still an issue with the aiming prediction, easily seen in certain parts of the video.
I think there is some problem with the ping-aware prediction, as I tried this on a US server, and I had no issues with the aiming, it only happened on some EU and all RU servers I played on.
This also happens with other weapons as well (rails, positrons, shrapnels, etc.)

It is quite visibly not going where you are aiming. And you are sure it is not just the new weapon? Also with others? Personally I have never noticed anything this bad.

I’m sure. I had the same issue with my shrapnel cannons, coils, and somewhat my positrons. (I haven’t used any of the other projectile weapons in a while).
Kost: My settings are the same as your screeny, both on. I’ve tried with both off and had no improvement, if not, it made it worse. My ping in that game was 250 (RU server) and I had no loss.
After further testing, I think I can narrow it down to being a ping issue, as I tried on a US server, and the aiming was noticeably better, still not completely fixed, but better. I think the ping-aware prediction is slightly busted, as it would appear that it isn’t compensating enough. (That’s my guess anyways)
Ok, then that tells me the Ping-aware prediction needs improving, as lots of people in this game get that high of ping, or sometimes even higher. The ping-aware prediction should work for all levels of ping.
However, my aiming is still off when I’m on a US server, especially with shrapnel cannons. I could record another video demonstrating this, but the footage would look very similar.
It’s simply how the regions work out. US player in US server gets 50 when optimal, less if closer to where server is hosted. 100 for EU and 150 for RU.
