I observed for a while a bug in afterburner numbers from ship description.
For example on Swarm (empire interceptor, recon, tier III, rank 8), it has max speed 330 and in the afterburner description 396. But in reality, using afterburner, I dont exceed 354 speed, with afterburner fully activated. And so on for all ships.
I reimplanted all implants, i thought will solve this problem, but no.
No 20% more speed when afterburner is used…just some below 10%.
Thx…that solved the problem. I still guess this is a bug…afterburner worked at 50% with that setting activated…and this is not normal, at least not how it was intended.
And it keeps reactivated when game is quited, then launched again. So manual deactivation every time I enter the game…not good…
Can be found a solution for this in a later patch, Devs? Thx in advance.
Can we have a fix to this? For me it’s working backwards… I always must deactivate in Main/Options/Game/Afterburner re-activation when I enter the game…so i can use full speed afterburner of the ships and to reactivate afterburner speed automatically when energy is consumed, afterburner button is continuously pressed and necessary energy for it is available again.
Regarding the setting not saving, never seen that. Did you maybe set your user_config.xml to read-only for some reason? Maybe try to delete it, on Windows it’s in My Documents\My Games\StarConflict.
Are you sure this is a bug, no one has experience this tho
Both the behaviour as well as at least the English translation of it are bugged and have always been. The point of the option - if you check the box - is to disable automatic afterburner re-activation after it got disabled. The bugged behaviour, however, is a constant de- and re-activation cycle of the afterburner regardless of your energy levels.

This bug is in game since December 2012 (well at least earliest report i found, might be even earlier), i remember searching for solution for that when i joined in march 2013

We bugs last that long without being fixed they become features
Yes, Snib, I modified user_config.xml to be read only, bcz otherwise I loose matchmaker queue player distribution info and combat scroll info and I rather deactivate Afterburner re-activation in game every time I log in and to have this semi-bug active than to loose that two info features. So I guess I’ll keep my read only file, to not let the game client to modify it and to loose that 2 features mentioned.

I’ve always had those two things and I do not need to set the file to read only. Even if you want to keep it read only for sentimental reasons wouldn’t it make sense to change the afterburner setting in it first?
Anyway don’t report bugs about settings resetting when it’s yourself preventing them from being persistent…
It was a time when that those 2 things didnt worked unless u put read only, user_config.xml file (December 2013). Now, apparently works without modifying it’s attribute to read only.
Still no fix for this problem… both normal and afterburner speed…are broken…for me at least. In stats values are in a way, but when I play any ships are diminished with 2-5% (bot normal speed and afterburner speed).
stats of the ship in hangar
normal speed used
fully afterburner used
energy slightly diminished
my crew used
Here is the ship Nibelung…in stats with normal speed 340 and afterburning 408…and when actually is played have normal speed 330 and afterburning speed 396.
The same with Centaur ship…in stats normal speed 164 and afterburning 196…and when actually is played have normal speed 159 and afterburning speed 191.
And with ALL SHIPS this is repeated, all have speed diminished.
I saw even a slightest energy value diminished…in stats is 398 and when ingame is 397 (for Nibelung ship).
I didnt modified any value of a file or have a settings that applies to that.
And I’m using Military CPU booster that gives main speed 5%.
These problems didn’t broke the game for me…but it kinda annoys me…to not have a solution for this…to be slightly crippled when using speed for no reason.
Is something that I’m missing? That Military CPU speed boost is broken (beeing applied to ship stats when visualised, but actually not working in PVP/PVE/Invasion)? Any thoughts for this?
Got it…finished current booster…and tried the ship with/without Military CPU booster…that booster is broken…increases speed till 5% only on paper…when u look at ship stats…but when actually u use ship in battle/Invasion…doesnt apply…so that solved my problem…must report this thing.
