How is it possible to get voted down on the forum? I have seen many people with “-1” or more on forum posts, yet a stunning lack of a dislike button… Is this a GM/Moderator power, or something I have simply not found yet?
Edit: The forum changed “N O O B” (without spaces) to “Ace” in the topic… An amusing Auto correct, yet it annoyingly changes the meaning…
Haha, that is amusing. i’d assume that reporting a post automatically gives it a -1
You used to be able to downvote, you can’t anymore.
Ah, allright, that’s odd, but thanks voyd
Well, that is annoying, however, I can see where a down vote could be horribly abused.

I have 2 of such posts where folks just decided to downvote out of pure spite. I managed to get down to -15 with those 2, though.

This.
Down-voting is a horribly abused feature, used out of spite and when people dislike someone else, rather than its intended purpose.
Up-voting isn’t a great deal better - as people more frequently up-vote ‘rage’ posts that incite other users than actually useful posts, but its better than nothing. If nothing else, it can indicate that someone has been an active and useful member of the community if you compare the time they have been on the forum with their reputation level.
