Ace protection mechanics

For testing purposes I created secondary account over the weekend.

From game number 27, having a Deimos as a single T2 ship bought at game 25 I couldn’t get a T1 game anymore.

From now on I was facing mostly R6 squads.

Can someone explain to me, what are the rules here?

No one knows for sure) Seems like after you hit rating level ~2000 you are always in T1-T2 mixed fights. Try loosing several games in a row - this will bring you back to T1 (at least it worked for me). But after several games you will hit 2000 again and return to mixed fights.

I was able to get with an 2500 rating T1 battle so iam not sure if this with rating is true(but thought it first coz after i hit the 2500 i got first into a T2 battle).

Yes, from certain rating level it kicks you out of T1. Basically it makes mentoring impossible without dragging dudes with Axes and Swifts to fight against Templars or Fox-Ms.

The problem is - I went down with rating to 1800 and still got pure T2 pilots in teams. I then switched to my main account (rating over 9k), equipped T2 ships and I got fights with exactly the same people.

You had a T2 ship in your line-up, so you will not get into T1 battles.

But it wasn’t equipped.

So - imagine this. I am new player. I started the game yesterday. Because of the weekend bonus, I can buy Deimos after a few battles. But after first T2 battle I want to go back to my trusty T1s. So I’m equipping my T1 ships, Lynx-M, Raptor-M and Swift and in my next battle I’m facing Maximum998 (4000 battles) ,  Bartelomey (11000 battles) and PHANTOM from DNO in Hydra 2, Kalah with crit gauss build and I think tackler. Team battle. They immediately going to our spawn and killing people. Our team got 2 kills, they got 40. As soon as someone spawned, Kalah was charging gauss to one shot him. If he survived the first shot, he was dying from concentrated fire of Hydra and the other teammate.

Please explain to me - what is the point of that? Killing players like PvE mobs? Showing they are OP, because they can kill T1 players? How exactly does it support the player base, when after exactly 2 hours and 35 minutes of game play, new player is facing players that have 1500 hours of BATTLE TIME alone.

So please explain to me the mechanics behind that transition from T1 to T2 and POST it as PINNED for new players.

While I agree with you, the most funny thing is that people rush Tier 2 to avoid the newbie queue, because it takes more time to get a game, and it is filled with bots.

And to be honest, that squad will do the same in tier 3, 4 or 5 if they don’t have a competent squad in front. Shame on them for doing it and farm stats.

after you have ELO rating of 1300+ you can’t plat t1

after you have ELO rating of 1300+ you can’t plat t1

That’s not true either. My friend has 1900 rating, and she is able  to play T1 or T2 depending on her ships in the slots. So something else is triggering that. Getting to 1300 takes 3-4 winning games and because they are 8vs8 with 2 players and 6 bots, it can be just a matter of luck to get this level.

I disagree. People don’t rush to T2, because they don’t have a clue what a tier is. They see better ship, they want it, they buy it… and they are stomped every single game from there. That’s what my private poll suggested.

I have no problem with squads in general I have a problem with new players that doesn’t want to stay in the game.

Yeah I just had a corp member complaining he was getting killed fast. Looked at his stats and it seemed like he had just reached t2  partially due to white ship, but was probably using T1 as well but was getting t2 matches

I was talking to someone yesterday, he said he reached t2 after 7 games in his alt. Now imagine a guy just started the game, and after 7 games he is facing maximum’s pub stomping squad in his white t1 ships… No wonder people quit without even starting the game!

Good day!

If I got the problem correctly, the thing is that matching goes according to the eldest ship in the slots, so if there is the T2 ship you have battles on T2.

You didn’t.

He bought T2 ship(didn’t equip it) and yet couldn’t get T1 games WITH ONLY T1 ships.

THIS

There has been a recent trend during RU/EU time for ‘vets’ to drop to T2 an improve ones stats, for fun, get medals. Because of reasons.

It aint right.

What they are fighting there is not only the newest of players unfamiliar with certain game modes, but players who have limited ship slots, crews, equipment. And can not go back to T1 any more. If I had just started a game and hit that kind of ‘vet’ wall I’d stop playing. It ceases to be fun. I begin to think nah this game ain’t for me I must stink at it… uninstall.

Any gaming community being ongoing relies on there being some new blood, and the vets dropping to T2 is killing that. U can easily be in T2 in an hour or so of starting and if I came across this débâcle that many are finding so amusing, I’d quit. I’d have no stake here. I’d think ‘this is what its like?’ and ‘I have four more tiers to go? nah not for me, buh bye’.

Many a new player is just gonna get up and leave and its their fault.

Here is the list of things that you can bring to a T2 game that many of your opponents do not have access to yet.

4th ship slot

Crew settings for each ship

Craftable ammos (R7 I think)

Mk4 weapons

Mk4 passive modules

Mk4 active modules

4000+ battle experience

Build knowledge

Fully leveled or premium ships

If you are a ‘vet’ of this game and slot T2 ships for regular pvp, you are the problem. Not Matchmaking, not other players, not devs, its you.

I hear a lot of complaints about the matchmaking being broken but is that surprise when these people start pounding through T2 and it might struggle to make sense of it all.

It might explain the no heal engys, the rushing tackler captains and the oneshipstevies.

Its easy to see that some of these players might be trying to get away from a T2 stompdown but have never had the chance to learn cause they got pounded in every game they ever had at lower tiers. Spawn, die, repeat is not a learning process and at least two of the things on that list were not around when these ‘vets’ had to go through their T2 training.

Little boys in big tough ships.

I know for a fact that T4 and 5 games from EU perspective have been pretty active for over a year.

Ideally we’d all be there having one big party battle.

Outside of dreads an tourney I never really touch T3 as this has been my attitude toward that tier for some time as well, to be constantly rolling through there with an orange and purple fleet is almost as bad imo. However furthering that down to T2 is low, really low. There is simply no excuse good enough to explain it, it is beneath contempt.

I’m sure if any of that annoyed them ill be found in game and blown to bits, but at least ill make em do it upstairs.

you know… there is also a problem with squads.

Back in da day when “vets” been in T2, T3 was full of 4man squads(those OP and casual) and it was easier to get mk3/4 stuff.

Now in most cases to get game as squad you have to go around and ask if anyone will make own squad to face you.

anyway I’m happy to see squads in T5 every FEW days! also they almost always bring experienced squadmates with T2/T3! it’s so fun!

I still think they should implement the same rules we had for the old SQ.

To fly in a tier higher then tier 1, you should equip 3 ships of the same tier and are not allowed to take a lower tier ship then that.

This way, people cannot fly higher tiers with T1/T2 and they’re also forced to stay in their own skill range a bit longer.

At the end, this should lead to more equal matches for newer players.

Yes, this please.

  • Also, the wolf in your profile picture looks like a koala in small size. :fed_lol:

People complain alot about long queue-time in this game and since the active playing population already is “low” it’s even more important that veterans play and “farm” in higher tiers.

Why?

Because you big boys have a helluva responsibility here whether you like it or not. What tier you choose to play says an awful lot about you - and if you already whine about long queueing times, well then have you maybe considered how your choice of tier make an impact on the game in general? No?

Because… THIS → The grinding in T1 is so easily done (especially with premium or weekend bonus on synergy/credits and/or using gold ammo) so moving on to T2 can be done in no time. Imagine new players’ impression of this game, and see it shatters the moment they enter T2 to face a killer squad/veteran pilots with +4000 battles crushing them again and again… how fun is that? What kind of achievement is that really? What kind of merit is that to boast with?

So… if you’re toying around with new players in T2, don’t complain about the long queue times, because you are part of the reason why people don’t stay in this game, for they aren’t even given a chance to improve. There is no fair play in stomping around in T2 as a veteran with all the multiple advantages you have in so many aspects, it’s stupid and you only bite your own xxxx since you prevent people getting a chance to like this game and actually improve and eventually face you in higher tiers and ABRA CADARBRA!! Bigger player pool → shorter queueing time.

Just a food for thought.

I think it is related to pilot rating and/or fleet strength. I have heard higher level players ranting about how they couldn’t get into a T1 battle. Also, even with T1 OR T2 ships i also will get into a mixed battle.
