A fluid game space,

For the sake of this conversation I would like to lay out some ground work.

   1) A active dread corp is a corp that attacks or defends several times a week.

   2) our goal is to promote more activity

   3) this is a game so lets not take all this personal

I believe any corp that wants to be active in dreads are going to need a base whether it be an iridium sector or gold.

Lets not take any ones last sector( if we are secure in this fact no one will get butt hurt)

at one point we BEASTs held 3 sectors and we defended as long as we could

( every night for over a month) now while it hurt watching them fall we did the best we could

Currently NASA holds the most sectors.

should we agree to this its for a while its time for them to defend

( i’m not calling anyone out so calm down)

The attacking corps ( the pack ) attacks who ever holds the most sectors (the king of the hill)

The pack can drive any corp back to a sector ( but never taking the last sector of any active corp )but once a corp is driven back.

   A new king emerges

They defend but no one gets  BUTT HURT  secure in the knowledge the pack wont take their last sector and the drama can stop

If a corp does not have enough members to attack, Then they can join the defense should they be needed but if its a choice between attacking short handed and defending they should attack,

This is an idea floated between those that want to have a fun game nightly

and are sick of the drama

  That’s my 2 cents

  Peace

Some people live off drama and enjoy the politics behind all this

Some more so than others, and not me either. I personally have been disgusted with some of the behavior shown in dreadnoughts over the past couple weeks and would do things to see the people driving this fall.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:

  • We don’t care what happens, as long as we get a game and there is activity within the NA corps.
  • Attack if you want, defend if you want, it does not matter to us. A game is a game.
  • I can’t care less about this drama and politicking that’s happening. Just play the damn game.

Be aware that our ultimatum is still in effect, and that our MO has still not changed since day 1:

All of this lead us to this point, and here is what is the current situation is:

  • The moment ANY sector in NA Federation space is pushed through for capture, NASA will be there, and we will try our best to bring our A game to that, numbers are irrelevant, if you cant beat us, you aren’t getting the sector.
  • If that to be a NASA sector to fall, we will be there, and we will give it to OWLs, again, because they are cool, if you can’t beat us, you can’t get the sector.

Ultimatum is usually implies expectation in return to do or not do something.

This is rather a course of actions, we don’t really expect anything in return from others. it is pretty much the core of how Dread Sec Con is envisioned by Devs (dropping any mechanics abusing from RU/EU and limitations of the implementations).

Sectors are meant to be rewards to those that participate and dedicated to the extend of overcoming opponents.

In Federation Space owning sectors doesn’t necessary mean that owner will have more games, even if you are targeted by a group of corporations you aren’t necessary have more or less games than those from “coalition” or those that just follow the coalition and attack same sector. For example NASA had more games during couple of weeks while controlling 2-3 sectors than in months controlling 7 sectors. In fact, on a contrary to what many representatives from different corps believe,

specifically to NA fed space - the less sectors there are the more consistent games we all can have.

For the past months 99% of cycles activity has happened in only 2 sectors with rare cases of 1 game in 3rd sector. On top of that we don’t even have sectors flipping owners more than once during couple of weeks, there are simply not enough participants to make this happen, or rather Focus, yeah “Focused Zerg” can bring 1-2 sectors down fast, but who does it sector goes back to? Pretty much same owner but mean while due to the nature of zerg, quality of those games are much-much lower than when some one comes prepared and focused on actual fighting than defence lowering. For the most part Zerg and quality do not coexist in NA time zone. So either there are sectors flipping owners and no good games, or better games and map is a stalemate.

Having more sectors within a cycle would only mean that most dominant corporation will obtain most of it until attack prices run them into corner, and because there is no sector owner rotation happening quickly enough, they stuck with inability to attack anything else due to the prices and lose interest in dreads all together since no one is attacking them any-ways.

THIS HAS HAPPENED ALREADY 3 TIMES in our time zone.

From top of my head here is the list of dreads in our zone:

NASA

OWL

Arch - gone, i dont see them participating anymore, unless AfterBigPatchComesAndBringsLotsOfPeopleBack happens

BEAST

FDEF

MEFF

CSA

VKING

Radix - lol

Currently the power difference between group 1 and 2 is enormous, and that is considering that group 1 would hardly be considered “average” in Ru/Eu time zone. And group 2 is more or less better than group 3, but not with that much margin.

So keeping this in mind, all we need is 2 sectors - one is to be free of Group 1 (Group 2 and 3 can fight there without much negative experience related to facing Group 1). And another sector for all of the corporations Group1 and whoever wanna join.

But this process is only for “forcing reliable games” it absolutely ignores the “rewards” portion of the mode.

At the end.

“Dont cap last sector” thing is kinda meh, this is not a kindergarten - you want a sector - you work for it, not having a sector does not prevent you from having dread games, especially taking in consideration that attacks are dirt cheap when you have no sectors and corporation gain iridium passively from PvP games and actively from donations.

How about this:

Play the game

Put down some iridium to announce attacks sometimes

Ask to play with some folks and see if you can get some lessons in

I don’t exactly speak for NASA since we’re a big corp full of people with conflicting opinions, but I really wouldn’t mind if anyone asked us to help them get better at dreads. No, not even you, ArcTic. It gets boring sometimes, winning every game with the same plays.

+10.

I’d take you up on that.

I’m thinking about doing a build dump on the forums. I’m a skilled crafter more than I am a skilled fighter, so why not let everyone else benefit from that?
