200x400=80.000 GS for a R14 dessi..

One question with dessies: do i do something wrong or everyone is an easy kill in Water Harvest?

I tried Meson Canon (orange, fully upgraded) with 4 modules. Going down a bit slower, but comparing the money&resources you pay to have MC11 orange, it’s a joke how hard it is to kill a fighter (forgot the type, maybe Tiger, or Tiger 2?). And how easy it is for them to gather and eat your dessie up.

I consider MC the best option, but that 9000dmg/sec or so is only on paper. In reality, 1-2 seconds of targeting a fighter should (yes, should!) vaporise it. But sometimes it takes more than 10, maybe 15 secs, to kill one. And they are many, they roll around the ship, so you have to target them manually, one by one, and they come very fast. So what’s the solution? Am i doing something wrong, or it’s just the way it is? And yes, the spread is low.

Even with low spread - meson spread is very high and you can reliably hit a frigate at 4km maybe. There is one more thing - Damage listed is for optimal situation, when max possible turrets are aimed at the target. So if your damage is listed at 9000 dps, each turret is doing 1100dps only. So if you position to broadside, then yes, you will be doing 9k dps for maybe 2-3 seconds before those fighters will get out of full broadside targeting area, then you will be doing much less than that.

Sorry, I am currently out of time to explain that further, I’ll be back and edit this post.

There are a couple of factors you have to take into account.

  1. Spread - and this is a big one, Mesons have high DPS and high spread, which means that if the target is somewhat far away, a lot of the projectiles will simply fly around the target without hitting it, aka your effective dps is much lower, so when using mesons you have to accommodate for spread, depends on your preferred engagement distance. So if you compare to Coil Gun, which has much higher accuracy but lowers DPS, at high distances it may as well do more dmg than a not tuned Mesons simply due to all of Coil Gun projectiles hitting the target than Mesons.

  1. DPS stated in the Hangar of the Destroyer - that is when EVERY gun shoots at the target, Dessies have 12 Turrets but only 8 of them can simultaneously shoot at the target, on top of that depends on the angle you shoot at, amount of turrets shooting can go down to 2 - go to custom battle and find the best angle for your destroyer (usually around broadside in horizontal pane). So when you are facing an enemy you don’t shoot with the maximum amount of dmg too.

@xKostyan didn’t they change the displayed DPS to 8 weapons?

Yeah, I should’ve phrased it better, by every I meant max possible turrets to shoot.

Yet these ships, despite being insanely costly, is easily taken down by simple AI in Rank7-10 zones, and if that wasn’t enough,

they are killed in a matter of seconds by a single fighter.

The total cost of a R14 destroyer in credits alone is 70-80 million, and then add the value of all the materials used for crafting the components

as well as the ones you have to buy for GS… you need 20 of those x400GS per.

I’ve seen Sparks that costs literally nothing compared to this, fly up to them an utterly annihilate a Tyrant in seconds.

Basically a ship that costs a fraction of a R14 destroyer can just rip it apart without much effort - how is this considered balanced and not pay-to-win ?.

If a shp that costs vast amounts of resources isn’t suppose to be worth it compared to much cheaper and easier ships to obtain, then what would be

the point of actually building it ?.

And considering the amount of players who’s already built their R14 destroyers, you can’t make them cheaper…  So make them actually WORTH building.

You devs have painted yourself into a corner with this so called “balance”.

i hear from every where that they nerved the destroyers in general but i have to say that the tyrant is stil way too op my tyrant has 520k survivability  80 % crit chance 80% dmg bonus on critical hit  with 9k base dmg now ad the 45 % dmg boost from special module you cant move when you use the ability but i do around 6k-15k/shot on a guardian ship once heated up and 3k-6k/shot on a stryke and this is without modules …

If you take a singularity adapted for damage on any ship, even tyrant goes down in hindenburg style really fast, it’s all about positioning and right setup for the right moment.
