Why are rail guns less popular at higher tiers?

Put crit ammo, you have 85% crit damage but your chance is too low, either put the speed implant because the damage will not be worth, or put crit ammo, that 10% will help, you don’t need the proyectile speed unless you’re blind, I do this with DE and Dragonfly and works nice.

And no it’s not a good build at all, I would get rid of the light hull and put something else, doesn’t matter if you run at that speed, the hull is too low. I rather put power unit conduit instead of 1 of those heatsinks and put something else in the hull.

I don’t think that 30 extra speed is worth Submatter shield and Lightweight hull, imho you sacrifice too much in tanking/survivability (comparing to “that” build).

In this particular case Projectile Ammo+Fed R6 implant > Crit Ammo+R6 Jericho implant dmg wise

You get more dmg and you get more projectile speed. If he wouldn’t run r2 empire implant, then it would be a different story, but in that case Fire rate ammo > Crit ammo, and r6 could be projectile speed if needed or Empire R6 for pure dps boost

It is not necessary a “bad” build, it is extremely fun and ultimate “PubStomping” build for solo play, i would rather call it non competitive build.

In this case Crit Ammo vs Projectile Speed Ammo is more of an utility choice, it is obviously easier to hit interceptors with PSA and CA does considerably more dmg overall, and seeing xxxx tons of interceptors in T3 PSA isn’t necessarily a bad choice on blowing up those pesky flies. Of Course if you fly in pair with a disabler…

In that setup Tillowaty posted you’ll have the highest average dps with RoF ammo and empire implant. Nominally dps is minimally higher for your selection but that assumes that your targets do not use the Armadillo implant.

If you need projectile speed, you’ll have much higher dps with Jericho R6 and RoF ammo than another implant and projectile speed ammo.

Depends, vs ceptors that dps isn’t all that important (hitting them is) so you wouldn’t use it vs them but vs bigger stuff you can deal with the spread increase and benefit from the higher dps bursting them down

Indeed, but the Wolf is a gunship, and it’s pretty redundant imo, you can have indeed higher RoF when you’re not overcharging, but It would make more sense in my opinion on a ship like the Panther, with the same bonuses, and also 10% extra critical chance.

On empire ships, treat your shield as an early warning, not a last chance warning.

That Tillo’s build seems excellent if in team with friend using Engineer. Total Min/Maxing, own health is outsourced for the engineer(s). Survivability comes from GTFO -speed, getting some extra time to do that GTFO strategy with the ships special ability.

 

Sure, might need some extra help, preferably from full 4-man squad, and asteroid hugging is friend.

 

 

Would be scary to fly with that solo. Would get good efficiency still, but you would be watching the re-spawning timer a lot  :wink:

Ill tell you a secret kept in the most sturdy vault in the Scon Universe: You don’t have to fire assault rails till it overheats, you can shot it till it gets little red, stop, wait for 1 sec, and start all over… That way you never overheats your weapon, and continues to harass your oponent with a rain of death.
