Who Is Feeding The Enemy With Kills ?

Define “bad” though. It’s perfectly possible in Detonation especially, but also Domination to have a bad k/d ratio and still be a big asset to your team.

A better solution surely is to directly reflect this stuff in points. If you win or lose a combat recon on kills, award bonus points to people based on how low their death count is.

The topic is to find out who is feeding kills before the end of the game.

The people who feed kills get already rewarded by having their SR lowered after the match.

BINKY !

Bad pilots shouldn’t be put in the low queue, they need to improve, and they wont improve killing other idiots.

Trolls, afkers and leavers should be put in the low queue.

All of this obviously with a way bigger population.

But they don’t improve by being cannon fodder either.

This problem didn’t exist under the old model because in 0.7 T3 and T4 were near unplayable for pugs. What the Devs ignore is that this made the game BETTER! The whole reason I joined NASA was because I recognised that Mk III gear alone wouldn’t cut it - I needed someone to teach me the metagame. Full credit to ElMustacho on that front. He was constantly giving feedback on how I should fly Styx, and I improved a lot under his guidance and that of other NASA pilots.

But this post is likely going to be deleted because that’s what the Devs do now when people suggest Joe Pug is NOT entitled to be able to rush to Tier 5 and be on level pegging with ESB. Instead of punishing bad behaviour and letting the tiers settle into skill brackets, they make it hard to advance, punish squads and reward bad practice.

Back in 0.7 the universal answer to this post would be for the feeders to go back to Tier 2. That’s still the case now; the Devs just need to enforce it.

Come on… Pilots with SR under 1000, one R13 ship(other ships in line up T2/3) with mk1 equip are prepared to play in T5 battles vs pilots with 3k+ pvp battles!

I LOVED the old T2 / T3 split … it just worked … but unfortunately:

What are Dev team’s opinion on merging the tiers down to only 3 tiers to improve waiting times ? Or do you firmly believe 5 tiers is still the best structure ?

Negatively. Two adjacent tiers have too big difference in power, and merge them in one battle is not a good idea.

Back then, I was the 1,000 DSR pug with only a Wolf lurking in T3 shadows watching the pros do their thing … learning. I would’ve easily qualified for an idiot queue. The old T3 is so much better than today’s T5 in how the matches and community can shape you as a pilot simply by playing in that tier… There are some nice T5 games but the majority are mostly meh. Dunno what needs to be done to get T5 ship shape but isolating the players further cannot possibly be it.

You mean you were the Tiger preying on T3 with your T4:

Good old times. While I personally didn’t mind, I think the match-making these days is fairer for most. I must have missed your 1k DSR lurking days, because when we squadded we rather tore those poor T2 and T3 guys a new one (I still have the old T2 logs, too. The scary part is that I even still remember some of those battles just by looking at the results…).

That doesn’t look like a battle and more like slaughter. I remember the days when every 2nd kill/assist I had, I got a slayer of immortals medal.

Well - I did improve after 5 months. And I remember that session. You were showing me how to get T4 ships in a T2.5 pool - was about the time you were trying to destroy your DSR from 1,900 to 1,000 by running around in T2 games. But I was that idiot with only one T3 ship playing in T3 matches when I started SCon. Watched a video guide on the game that advised people to speed rank as quickly as possible up Federation tree so you could fly the OP Wolf gunship. Little did I know that

A. he was stupid and

b. me even more so for trusting a video guide on youtube

Well - I did improve after 5 months.

I only started archiving my logs back in July 2013 and you were doing fine back then already at least.

You were showing me how to get T4 ships in a T2.5 pool

I deny all knowledge of such despicable exploits.  :taunt:

Haha yup. Actually the goal was 500 and/or the lowest DSR in the game. I did manage the 1000 (I ended up dropping myself to ~1.1k semi-regularly afterwards just for trolling purposes) but the 500 remained out of reach. As I said, good old times.
