I used OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) until now, because my gaming pc has not a really good CPU, and it’s the only one of all I tried which does not kill my framerate too much in a game.
I even thought about setting up a linux server to record over network, making OBS only streaming to that, because that would mean, no HDD activity and all the encoding can be done somewhere else. Some project for christmas I guess.
I like the geeky interface of OBS, where you have to set up all your sources. It does need windows 7 or higher afaik. to work properly.
Also tried ezvid, overwolf, from the ones not mentioned here, but they were not satisfactory. Did not try Afterburner yet.
have you seen game play on youtube of 6000x1080P gaming? Good, Cause I’m probably the first. But fraps is not using my PC all the way, I expect it to use all my cores or something, but that is not the case.
At least try out the free version of Bandicam to get a feel of it. Although, I shudder when I think of what JP’s video file size will be after 5 minutes…
MSI is graphics card specific so I couldn’t touch it. Frapps I didn’t try. Bandicam would crash SC after the ten minute mark or whenever I clicked pause if I used the Intel Quick Sync driver. The Xvid driver is fine.
The price to get rid of the watermark and time limit seems high to me. I’d rather just record an hour and edit it later if I wanted to keep something.

I have. Hell, my vids are recorded in 1080p and my cpu (an i5) barely scratches 50% with SC. I get a constant (forced) 40 fps.
