Will their be an official team for editing the wiki soon?

Star Conflict must be getting more popular because It looks like the wiki main page has been hijacked…

Nah, spam bots have been the only ones who still care for that wiki for a while now.

Thanks, we will look into it.

The spam bots have returned in force since the change to authentication to integrate it with the Gaijin single sign on. It seems the log in link in the top right takes you to the Gaijin login page, which allows anyone with a forum account to log in (yay!), but the access rights are still set so that SSO users can’t edit (boo!). However the old wiki-specific user account system apparently still exists and with a minor bit of URL crafting you can still log in and create accounts with it, which apparently do have edit privileges by default, which is presumably how the spam bots are getting in.

I kind of care :frowning:

I’m sorry mate, I didn’t intend to slight your efforts, I know you’re still doing your best despite the devs no longer providing support.

Well, anyway, now that the wiki is mostly integrated with the Gaijin sign on system the simplest solution is to complete the integration - give all SSO users edit privileges and properly disable the old wiki-specific authentication. That should stop the spam bots cold, AND it’d mean any SC player could edit the wiki just with their Gaijin account.

Actually I just went to check to see this integration and neither can I log in with my Gaijin account details nor does it redirect me anywhere? I get the standard mediawiki login/account creation page, no URL crafting required at all.

Oh, that’s a bit bizarre. So if I start a private browsing session and go to wiki.star-conflict.com it shows me as not logged in as anyone and the Login button takes me to the mediawiki log in page. If I then don’t log in, and instead click the the Main Page link on the left, it shows me as logged in as <IP Address> and the Log in button now points at the Gaijin site. I guess it changes based on whether you’ve got a cookie or not.

Wiki page on Implants should be fully up-to-date now. I will start going through every page I can to see if anything is out of date.

Gold star for MrPiddlez. Jk

Wiki is such an invaluable resource for new and old players alike. Put as many specifics, numbers, and figures as possible.

Hmmm, I guess its time I post something on the forums for productivities sake. Can the Star Conflict Developers make a game calculator, it would be appreciated by the community so much. If not can they give us some sort of insight as how to make our own calculator, this way the alpha steps of making it can be started?

why would we need that?

What would it calculate?

I think he means something like a fitting tool.

The hope is still up for those stat dumps…

Just a heads up guys - currently working through getting accurate stat tables for Fighters. It’ll take a little while, not least because I only have time to do one or two today, but keep your eyes open.

Created pages for broken links from /main page. Some are copies from the RU wiki so they still need translation and updates.

Also working on fixing broken links to pics that are already uploaded. Noticed that many have the .jpg tag on page but the pics are in .png… so if you have broken links look at that first.

Seems we need a total overhaul of the ship template. That’ll be fun…

(Re-post)

Can we not just copy the Russian wiki over to the US server and just translate them bit by bit to english? Even without straight up english, all the numbers are there. It would still be more useful than the english wiki atm.
