If you win a scenario, at the end there will be one purple dot. You will almost always get overcharged or experimental loot from it. Though on rare occasions I have found no loot.
No kidding…well crap, it’s time to take my frigate for a PvE spin then.
Pve is one of the better ways to gear out your ships now if I could just find T3 groups for farming.
At longer ranges the lack of spread almost cripples lasers due to what Uhmari points out. You sort of have to ‘jostle’ your aim to find where the target is inside the targetting reticule until you start doing damage, often wasting precious seconds trying to feel around for a target you can’t see clearly yet, resulting in strange situations where you’re dead on target and doing zero damage. If you were firing anything else, some bolts might miss, but you’d also hit with them.
Seeing as ships aren’t tiny dots, I’m of the mind that a little spread is beneficial to a weapon’s ability to hit targets in a furball.
I am fairly new on SC, I am playing since 3 days, but I love theory craft and learn how things works.
I have noticed that resistance on shield are low on EM, and on hull it is kinetic. From this point, I dont see why I would play with other weapon than plasma. Actually, I bound weapon modules on my mouse, and hit shields with EM, then switch to kinetic right when shields are down.
So, beside a crit build on an interceptor, there is a reason to play something else than plasma at this time?
In later tiers you get more slots to customize your ship, the real beauty of that trend is that the more people do it, the more beneficial it is to fit your ship to have EM-strong shields and Kinetic-strong hull. They may have a natural trend towards weakness, but if people accept it as fact you can basically tank only one resist and come up on top.
DaS people play lasers for their constant “beam”, you just point the beam on the target and slowly burn your way through, makes it easier to hit than a plasma bolt, which helps at long range, that is why lot of frigs go heavy or assault laser. Intys and fighters tend to go for plasma more unless you are doing a critical build due to the flexibility mentioned above. So as you can see, all damage types have their uses, though I think rapid fire rails need less spread. Hell, I think that you can remove spread entirely for all weapons, bolt speed is enough of a wild card.
Syam, at extreme long ranges, I hit B to zoom in. Helps spotlight the enemy.

My corp CEO told me that T3 and T4 get grouped into the same difficulty on the scenario. He said it’s better to go after you get to T4 because it’s very hard in T3.
Either way, I’m interested in giving it at least one try at T3. My in game name is FlyingScorpion. Send me a friend/squad invite and I’ll join you.

Man, I totally forgot you could do this. Thanks for the reminder.
