  • option to make some of the colors glow like Tron rawr…

lGqbVbO.jpg so sexy

Really nice, although I did prefer a bit more red on mine:

Colour choice is so limited though. Even black is not black enough, looks more like grey:

Definitely, although better as an additional option for glowly edges. Wouldn’t want the entire ship to glow - or maybe I would.

I’d just call them ‘Lumifiber Trims’. Note that the trimming doesn’t need to cover all sharp edges. Their best outlining goes for the areas of the ship which give it’s recognizable characteristics. If you make all sharp edges or even more covered in them it just looks like a neon party preparing to give you a seizure. There’s a certain aesthetics which need to be considered.

These 2 below are remarkably well done - not too much and not hidden:

I’d say the PS2 Scythe is the best of lumifiber that i know of.

Yep, I had suggested PS2 lumifiber type trims a while ago. They’d probably have to call it something else than Lumifiber though because that’s a PS2 specific term for it and SOE might not like it getting “stolen”.

seriously - let the court note that all evidence points to Lumifiber trim is in hot demand.

only used one colour on this one … gonna be moving on to T4 soon didn’t see the need to go all out on a temporary ship. Rather pleased to see that on some ships, one colour makes a big enough impact.

(very pretty Katana type S)

Schweet… that is one neat colouration, more so since it only requires a single colour change.

BTW… does anyone have a good suggestion for Legion ships (the blue ones)? The colour 2 and 3 patches too scattered and messy for my liking ><

Really? I think they’re great. Couldn’t decide on the base colour so far though for the fat lady:

For Legion ships it helps if 2 of the colors are either the same or very similar in shade and the 3rd be something that sticks out.   You can also match your colors to existing parts of the ships (i.e. black trim, neon blue lights etc) to extend contour lines on your ship or go for a lumifiber look.  Here’s a few examples I put together on each class of ship to give you a general idea.  All of them are Legion ships:  A Black Swarm, a Spartacus, and a Minotaur.

No luck with the Hydra 2. The splotches of colours don’t even look like lumifiber ><

I used chrome on them splotches. It reflects some colour from the map hopefully making a single colour Styx not overly dull. Making Hydra2 all white for example will share the same colour scheme as the Hydra LRF :stuck_out_tongue:

The other option is to go 2 tone. Blue and Dark Blue works well on any ship with annoying skins. Same with Black and White, Red and White…

Try a light grey.

Sorry Jacx, no Hydra 2 here for possible suggestions :frowning:

For those who want to improve the lumifiber thingy on ships that come close to it (maybe it will affect your ship too Snib) try to get a color that matches the texture beneath which usually represents surface scratches - usually grey. It will make the light colors chosen more obvious and clean.

Here’s another Wolf screenshot for example:

If you go back to my first Wolf images (link below) which is in black you can see the scratch textures beneath the base color. This grey takes most of that effect out.

PS: just kept messing around and got this… too bad the surface scratches are still there

Shame the Neon Green isn’t really neon. Would’ve been awesome on that white Wolf.

saw this guy in-game. thought it looked nice

… my latest T3 ECM with SM colors. I really want Corp logos now.

Try a light grey.

Doesn’t do it for me. I liked black, but prefer the colours. The default blue isn’t bad in the combination either btw.

Oh, this was about Hydra 2? Here’s one:

Nop, for your ship. Thought that would go better. Just realized, if you’re asking which one of the two you listed i’d go for green base color.

The Hydra you listed is pretty cool. And that’s the base grey or close to it that i was thinking about.

Kine is on a corp representation rampage xD

And probably light blue would go better on the white Wolf.

Really hope they think about adding lumifibers. A GM forward this idea pls? People are crazy about it.
