RFR is still strong as d**** on the right ships (read: any ceptor with spread bonuses and/or high CPU slots).

What are you guys talking about? LRF are totally OP lol, I agree with OP. It completely replaced my guard, whose crappy shield tanking and nerfed modules are underwhelming compared to empire LRF now, where you have:
good long range sniping weapon
insane main gun dps
minefields, do I need to say more?
radar immunity
decent hull tank
Can outtank and kill most of the guards on the field, snipe interceptors, do are denial with minefields and defend yourself better in close range as well, you just have to use it properly

Recon can litterally spit on your pulsar with the Drain shield
and
ECM can Stase + Ion while draining your energy preventing you to use a single defensive module

While you shouldn’t really face tank a pulsar, but it takes more than 1 EM torp to the face to kill Eagle B and that ship has no Emergency barrier.
