Questions to the developers of Star Conflict Summer 2016

Alright, a few more questions:
-What was the reasoning behind the staggered release of the rank 14 Destroyers?
-What will the major focus of the dev team be on once the destroyers are finished deploying?
-Will Open Space be changed prior to the rework to make it more appealing to players again?
-How much time has passed within lore since the invasion began?
-Will the method of acquisition of neodium and beryllium be changed as more and more items are added into the respective ranks loot pool during the trophy search phase?

1.) Will Dreadnoughts ever be a part of Open Space, where you will actually have it parked in an occupied sector and operational as well?

2.) Open Space rework - What areas do you plan to touch or change, to make it better in general?

3.) Open Space rework - Will randomized loot system still be present?

4.) Will we be able to convert Secret Ship Parts soon with GS, based on [this](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/30532-secret-projectdestroyer-ship-parts-recycling-option/) suggestion I’ve made some time ago?

5.) Can you provide more details on what maximum resolution can Star Conflict be ran on? Also, let me know, if you can increase FPS cap above 60 FPS?

6.) Do you plan to expand server infrastructure anytime soon, to increase your server capabilities?

7.) Are Star Conflict servers shared or used in some way by another title/s, like Crossout, etc.?

8.) What is the title name of supposed 1.4.0 update?

9.) Do you plan to release GS battles on Sundays for T4 and/or T5 as well in the future?

10.) Do you plan to add more turrets and rocket launchers on all 3 dreadnoughts? They lack regular firepower. Weapons’ fire rate is too low, as well as speed of projectiles.

Thank you for your answers.

Sincerely,

Koromac

Hey all.

I have a question that’s focusing about the daily-connection-rewards : is it actually planned to improve those ? The last update who replace the 4 first crates with only “3-hours-bonuses” (an some rare monocristals ?) was not so helpful as expected, but some further improvements of this system could be more than useful.

For example, expanding the connection-rewards beyond 5 days (2 weeks, 1 month… something like that), and getting more an more interesting stuff the more days you’re login’ in…

Maybe ?

I have a few questions.

  1. What date is it right now (9/20/2016) in the universe of star conflict? Like, what year exactly?

  2. Will you ever re-enable the directional keys? I don’t care about them for combat, it’s just not having them makes for terrible cinematography, and in the upcoming Star Conflict feature length film (filming starts in December or so depending on how everyone’s boring college classes go), I hope there is no poorly made shots, I know at least 1 shot is going to be sh*t, a sh*t shot, because we were going to use the directional keys to keep a steady rotation in an ‘uncontrollable tailspin’ and later a stationary barrel roll. So without the directional keys we have to have 2 people, 1 person filming and 1 person manually spinning, and it’s going to look edgy as f*ck. At least add back the keys in a cinematography setting or something that only certain people can access if they request it (do What??) idk, I just don’t want to deal with that terrible shot, it was supposed to be dope, from the cockpit view spinning around (using green screen windows in a 3d rendered cockpit) and then from the side too using free aim while still spinning, but now it’s going to look low quality with 2 people involved and the camera not even spinning with the ship and that’ll look just so dumb omg I can’t even, the struggles of film directing.

  3. Would the dev team ever consider adding back the old Hercules model, and only keep the new one for the Ghost?

Four) I cant type the number because there is a piece of graphite under the key. Anyway, if I created forged metal sculptures of ships in star conflict, and sold them, would there be an consequences?

  1. If yes to four, what if I gave them away as prizes?

  2. Can I market the film, it includes frames from Star Conflict (quite a bit over 30 seconds) I ask because I’ve already put several thousand dollars into the film, and if I can’t even put ads on it on youtube, that’s money I’m not getting back. Even if it does help bring player base back (which is the whole point), if my team and I are not allowed to collect revenues on it, then there probably won’t be enough funds left for the sequel and the prequel, and the sequel’s sequel which is still pending depending (ahah! rhymes!) on how the first, the prequel, and the sequel go. Note the sequel’s sequel would only have a small amount of footage in it from Star Conflict, an orbital battle, the rest would be CGI and Planet Side 2 planetary battles.

  3. If yes to 6, but with royalties, how much % of revenue would royalties be?

  4. Change of subjects, I have several detailed PvE and Special operation missions in the works (entertaining stories included mainly for the purpose of explaining how the missions would play chronologically, but also for an improved chance of the devs liking it) and a few sectors (some already have stories: ie: X-Day competition story sectors Peyton Station and The Fallen Guardian (names still not set in stone)) would they even be considered? I know there is a map voting section of the forums, but I don’t think I’ve seen any of those maps being used in the game. Basically, am I just wasting time making maps, or would they actually be considered?

  5. How do you feel about me making a bunch of Star Conflict trailers after the movie is done? If any are good enough (That one video I made during the frag movie competition was not quality work, that was done in an hour (editing actually took like 2 more hours) and was just a test for recording software) would you use them on steam?

  6. How do you feel about selling Star Conflict posters and what not? Because I would totally buy those

  7. How about a 6ft Maelstrom replica? Because I would also buy that no matter the price… unless it was upwards of like 1000 USD.

  8. How about a 3ft Maelstrom computer case/housing kit with the fans being the thrusters and the ports being the macromodules and the cdrom bays being the hangar (probably not the BEST placement…), and the bomb rack being the cpu indicator light thing?

                      it’d be good income

  1. To see them in OS - yes, I think so. To be operational - it’s only in sector conquest mode.

2-3) OS rework - is the new game mode, it will not replace the old one. It’s new mechanics and new gameplay, but it’s too early for the details

  1. Not in the near future, we’re aimed in another direction for now

  2. It’s 1080p. Should be working on powerful PCs just fine. We can but decided to make a cap, keeping the pilots in the same enviroment, 60 is the optimal framerate? like golden standart.

6-7) Maybe, but not earlier than the begining of the next year. And SC servers are only for SC, Crossout has another server groups.

  1. We have 3 variants left. But it spoils the content)

  2. You mean Golden Battles? It’s available for everyone

  3. Maybe on T5

Thank you for the answers. Tier 5 Dreadnought Battle needs to be more exciting, so adding more guns or rocket turrets, while increasing the fire-rate and speed of projectiles is necessary.

                      it’d be good income

  1. It’ 4616 year

  2. No, they won’t be back for mouse/keyboard controls. We’re acualy discussing development of some tools for making videos and stuff, will see what’s happen there)

  3. We’re upgrading the appearance of some ships from time to time, but we have no technical opportunity at the moment to keep the old ones in the client as well

Four) Technically not, but I don’t think that there’ll be a problem, as long as you don’t live in Russia) If you will make some small changes in the models, they will be considered as different by the way)

  1. If you will gave them like for free (as a prizes as well), it’s not a problem at all, it’s absolutely legal)

  2. If it’s not for a commercial use it okay) If Youtube allows SC Content everywhere, it’s absolutely fine I think. But we want to see this movie)

  3. That’s the questions to Gaijin I think, if there commerce is involved I can no longer help

  4. We like to see every suggestion. There’re not so many missions concepts among them, so why not to create one?)

  5. We’re always excited to see any SC related content among the social networks. And yes) We can upload them)

  6. We have SC posters from time to time, using its as a gifts on Gamers Cons we’re going to. But to purchase it from us from Russia doesn’t seem practicability much. We have wallpapers on our website, the posters are based on them, you can print them) Will be much cheaper than the delivery service)

11-12) We don’t do this kind of work) By the way the concept creator is Karanak http://karanak.deviantart.com/ You can contact him, and maybe he will help with replicas and PC cases)

Is one of the options “Season 3 Counter Incursion”? because I think that’d be pretty cool… actually it might not even have any contest to the update… if it does, almost all of the sectors I’m working on modeling (and their respective missions) will go well with it…

I could imagine ‘Strike back’ as a title. I mean with upcoming R14 destroyer this would be the final answer to all threats out there.

>>9.) Do you plan to release GS battles on Sundays for T4 and/or T5 as well in the future?

  1. You mean Golden Battles? It’s available for everyone<<

Koromac refer to sunday tournaments that is T3. So he is asking if you will be introducing tournaments for T4/T5 8-size group PvP competence that reward GS too in the future. So will you do that?

My questions:

  1. Does exist a 3rd giant alien ship(I don’t mean Bions - the background ‘planet’ you see on the leviathan map)?

  2. Currently cruisers are only in PvE available(existing). Will this change? Aka introducing them as(maybe functional) enemies in OS as well?

Is this intended or is it a bug that when a destroyer is stunned (ECM stasis), both wormhole projector and Tempest launcher goes on cooldown even if they weren’t “active”?

If yes, can you explain why did you choose to put modules on cooldown even when they aren’t used?

And is it made on purpose that wormhole projector sometimes deal self damage because of its “explosion”?

I have a question, we will also have this time missions for crafting 1 of the 3 destroyer?

It deals self dmg when teleporting at the max distance.

Does the Dreadnought subsystem “Command tower” upgrade enhances drones? The description in the subsystem only refers to losing less fleet points after being captured, not about increasing drone parameters.

When will you finally rebalance destroyers and or their modules? A Federation(Procyon as an example) whos main goal is speed & mobility, should not have to make have a hull slot in addition to their build, to increase their hull’s amount just to be able to survive a bit longer thanks to the incredibly OP(pretty much a game bug now) covert ops, its plasma ark can takedown more hull in a low time frame, more so of that than the Stingray or Brave combined. The destroyers (8/11) are already to overpowered for their guns, why don’t you take a players word who has built all 3 on different accounts, and rebalance them, make them more survivable and have less damage, because right now, I have done a study on this, the amount of tactics for killing a destroyer as they become more and more of a problem has increased 10 fold, every battle I have gotten into and played, at least 8/10 of them had destroyers(PvP-Combat Recon, Team Battle)* and every time–everyone would focus on the destroyer, they have to great of a damage output to be supported by their survivability(not the number the literal meaning) I would wish to see the following specs for “Archon” R-8

Shield: 150k pts

75 Base Res each type*

Hull 100k pts

50base res each type( covert ops plasma arc, at least gives them a chance to live)*

Speed: Hard lock at 150ms

Rotation:18

Guns-12 fire instead of your normal 10(shouldn’t be a problem, the guns already fire inside the ship itself, crappy meshes and gun placement)

Gun Stats as follows:

“Coil Gun”

1275 damage/hit(all 12 guns, no 10 gun math BS)*

ROF: Hard locked at 225(base 175)

Projectile  Speed: 4,500 M/s*

Critical chance base:10%

Critical damage base: 75%
Spread: 0 at start to 2 at full

Overheat 10/2

“Meson Cannon”

1200 damage/hit(12 guns again)*

ROF: Locked at 375*

Projectile Speed:N/A

Critical Chance: 25

Critical Damage 50%

Spread 0.2 base to 1.5 max(can be modified)*

Overheat 20/4

“Halo”

Damage-8,000(12 guns again)*

ROF: 50 rpm

Projectile Speed: 1750 base max 2,300 ms*

Critical Chance:10%

Critical Damage 35%

Overheat 8/3

DESTROYER MODULE HEALTH:

Engine 10,000 pts/20k damage on destruction*

Capacitor  7,500/10k on destruction*

ALL MODULES EVERYWHERE

5,000 PTS & 5,000 DMG ON destruction!*

= 50 K DAMAGE EVEN ON THE FED THIS WONT BE A PROBLEM GIVEN YOU DONT FK ITS STATS UP

Do ask me to revise anything but as far as I am concerned this is a great build.

* anything with this symbol means it can be discussed

since federation ships get a free 8 crit for going fast, should I expect empire and jericho to get something unique as well?

And is it possible to only hide the insult, not every words that contains this specific word?

on that route it would be better if they replaced the words with something lighthearted and funny to take the edge of anger off, or else the chat blocking creates frustration that leads into the anger.

I think the bigger issue though is that the devs seemingly need to baby their community because nearly none of them have the confidence to shake off an insult. I’m from New York so insults are more or less their own dialect and it’s from my experience that people who can not handle bantz are destined to ruin everything they touch. Still though, it’s a business so I understand their decisions. In that line of thought replacement instead of punishment or exclusion would be a more energetic choice for censoring. With exception of course for those who are exceptionally determined to bypass censorship but as long as they maintain a chat punishment for chat abuse kind of mentality and offer “cool down” bans then it shouldn’t have a negative impact on the community.
