New players should see this...

The grind has changed, but I am only talking about the skill tree at the moment.

The old skill tree allowed to use end game skills in T1 vs new players, that means you got a very big boost from your skills that new players did not have.

Not to mention the unlocked items.

The grind not only has changed, it has increased. A lot.

I wasn’t around to see this old tree but, to me, that does sound relatively better. And increases our (that is to say, the pilot’s) individuality in the game.

Don’t even get me started in “unlocked items”…

Gonna copy Ory here:

‘but, but, but… :effort:’

That old tree seems worlds above better than what it is now. Why was it so hard to make it limited per ship rank like implants are now, hmm? If you fly a rank 8 ship you can use bonuses up to rank 8 max.

To be fair, this is a good idea. Implement that skill system with the current Implant limitation system.

During the main times we have 2000-3000 players online.

What about the North American main times?

Yes good idea dude, i agree with you. That skills tree was amazing was so sad lose it :frowning:

The only thing that I actualy hate that happened to the game is number of weapons reduction.

I love diversity in weapon choices, now, It’s totally uninspired. I waited a lot to get to T4 just to see It’s a copy of T3…

Other changes are more of a personal preferences thing, but weapon selection is just nonexistant.

I really hate playing bubblegun as plasma weapon on a fighter.

Other bad thing are in the tech trees (play 4 snipers to get one Engee - Empire, useless premium ships)

Acutally the grind times with the old tree would be even longer. Now you can buy Mk I and Mk II without grinding. With the old tree you had to get certain skills first before being able to use a module.

The old tree locks better and more interesting, but it caused a lot balance issues and most players thought it was to difficult.

I like the current progression ways, they just need some tweaking so it isn’t such a grind.

Ah, I remember the time where I was known for making an inty and out fitting it for max speed. T2 I hit 650 M/S and in T3 I hit 767 M/s…and then they speed capped me.

But there is still room for improvement. With the right modifications, you can actually keep the current leveling system (lolsynergy) and remake the Implant system into that old tree. Cause let’s be fair, that old system does look A LOT more fun than the current one.

It also looks A LOT more unfair for new vs old player.

Hence why I mentioned balance (at least I think I did). The problem here is that things aren’t thought-out. At all. Changes are made and, more likely than not, not even tested and just applied for one single reason:

BUBBLEGUN… hahaha… yes…yes.  It’s the worse weapon in a game ever. The weapon reduction was insane o.O… ALL the updates in my opnion was insane… they think to much about balance and protect to much newbie players. It’s the way they choose for the game… in some aspects wrong way but… maybe we got luck and some devs read this and start to think in real changes for the game. I hope so…

The changes they make are generally wanting to make the game better, but usually they either go over-the-top or just do it terribly(Contracts…)

Everything right now takes skill and throws it out the third story window.

I went back to T2 and got 17 kills in one game and 22 assists. IN A INTERCEPTOR.

Interceptors are fairly easy to play now imo… Almost nobody can shoot you and you have ‘melee’ weapons which are in this case easier to use :expressionless:

Dying in them now is purely the pilot’s fault.

I couldn’t agree more. I see people STANDING STILL in space near a beacon, and I swoop in, do a nice 179 degree helix corkscrew and fire 2 shots and a missile. BAM dead.

I also got 2 ships at once with my plasma arc. THAT was hilarious.

Get 2 ships with 1 proxi mine, even funnier

Now you understand what i mean by ‘nubs sitting still for minutes while shot at with bubbles’, right?

If you complain about bubbles being OP. your flying is wrong and you should feel wrong.

Bubbles that hit an inty doing 4k damage per pop, now THATS truly OP

I’m not the guy sitting idle in front of the bubble guns lol, i’m the guy using them xd

Tbh current heat rate vs damage is good. I maybe would say even give the gun 1 more shot before heating, but whatever, not hurting much.

4k to inties does seem off the charts tho.
