It could be great implement that idea, but it doesn’t need a new faction for that, only a new station.
I think new faction are going to be aliens and we will be able to buy alien ships. There are alien ships in the game so, why don’t let people buy them?

Even cooler. For example, Federation could have the Antares/Stingray/Archleon style subfaction (Blue color, curvy design), the Empire Brokk/Loki/Desert Eagle style subfaction (Light brown color, bulky design) and Jericho Ronin/Sybil/Archon/Razor style subsection (with the Ball Neurocontroller or whatever)
