Microwarp Kamikaze-to-win Recon

First time I saw that (wasn’t familiar with the game yet), I thought it was brilliant! And since then, every time I am captain, I keep a wall or something between Interceptor and me if they come any closer that 12km (I think they have uite a long reach, not sure about the number, so, I just stay on the safe side).

I haven’t tried it, I mostly fly Jericho, but it’s not too hard to avoid as, as captain, you see every ship on the map. I’ve had three guys try that in about one minute on me, one aimed for me, hit the wall he didn’t see, one hit an asteroid behind me, the other just got destroyed by my backup…

So it seems to me it’s very difficult to execute, and not that difficult to avoid (avoid putting yourself in a situation that would allow that to work).

Like Hollow_Knight said, if they can nail you like that, they deserve it, totally agree on that.

As captain, put a wall between you and the enemy’s approach.

As someone protecting the captain, I don’t camp with the captain. If I’m in fighter, I fly towards the forward position of a flank to intercept any raiders. Yes, they will still make it to the captain…but probably without any shields. If I’m piloting an inty, I’ll be patrolling flanks and my sensor will be able to detect raiders more effectively, and allow me to intercept them before they can engage the captain.

TLDR: Unless you’re a frig, don’t sit and camp with captain. MWD suicide isn’t going to work if they can’t get into position in the first place.

When Im captian, That means im the de facto leader, I can type really fast and I use that to my advantage. I keep the map up, get behind some cover, and start ordering all frigates to protect me, all fighters to cover my flanks, and all interceptors to get the enemy captain. With someone playing the leadership role, people are more keen to listen and play the game the way it was meant to be played.

This works against those crazy suicide guys cause all I do is just hand out UNDER a frigate with a shield regen mod on.

I’ve only had it happen to me once, and I’ve watched plenty of people die trying to make it happen. It can be countered by getting behind cover or having a teammate block the shot.
