lv8 or lv9 ships?

I’ve seen hundreds of ships blown up by Rank 7 and 8 ships - including interceptors. Thus, by definition, they are useful.

 

Just because a ship doesn’t have every advantage, doesn’t immediately render it useless.

This , + i mentioned for the Fed ships , that the ships that dont profit from the Last impl. have Bonus resistance besides the faction special ability Modules :wink:

I’ve been killed in my rank 9 ships by rank 7-8 ships. I also know pilots who regularly plant the EMP bomb in their rank 7 interceptors - despite your claims of uselessness.

Sry , but i think different . E.g. the Black boomber. When it would also Profit from lvl. 9 Impl. it would be stronger than the M-Variante because of its higher resistances . Is my Personal opinion :slight_smile:

I do not agree with that. Yes, if you use tier 1 ships you should not be able to get tier 3 implants.

However, all tier 1 implants should work with all tier 1 ships. Just my thoughts.

Oh, I never said it’s either right or wrong. I only tried to explain why such game mechanic exists without any evaluating, so I’m not sure what you disagree with.

In all honesty I think it’s fairly balanced though, as (how it seems to me - to make exact conclusions we would need to do some serious, unbiased number crunching I suppose - not only by comparing hull/shields/speed or whatever) lower rank ships have certain base stats actually better than higher rank for specialised team tasks.

 

Only problem with this system is that if someone decides to fly lower rank ship in the same tier - it takes away a good chunk of customization coming from Implants.

 

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this discussion somewhere already, though. It will be never-ending conflict between those who agree with having level/class based mechanic and those who prefer more sandbox’y skill based min-maxing. 

 

Maybe you do not know how to fly properly.

 

I saw the change when I went from a rank 8 inty to a rank 9 inty, getting nearly unkillable and finally able to survive barely any situation.

Only my sense of logic. Right now i have 580 max speed with afterburner for my BB. So 20 before max cap. With lvl9 impl. i could cut some speed increasing attachments and go for more protection and be nearer or even reach the cap + the bonus resistances , what , in my opinion , would make the m-Variante useless , besides for the love of the faction specific module bonus. Am i wrong ?

Maybe but it renders all inties that are not rank 9 useless.

It is a balance of smaller cost vs more implants.
