It probably just needs a tweak on the client side for title handling. Instead of
disp_name = sprintf("%s %s", title, name);
It should be
switch(title) {
case SENSEI:
disp_title = "%s Sensei";
break;
case CHEERLEADER:
disp_title = "Cheerleader %s";
break;
case SMITER:
disp_title = "Smiter %s";
break;
}
disp_name = sprintf(disp_title, name);

Except, in Japanese, it’s <first_name>-sensei. For added respect, they can speak the family name before sensei.
I for one really dislike the titles that are behind people their names. It masks their corporation affiliation a little - or at least makes it harder to spot.
Consistency in this regard beats any accuracy.
This is why I have a huge dislike for the Pirate Baron title.

I just might switch every ship from having Peacemaker to having Sensei… Maybe a few more tweaks? The lettering does need tweaked, Graduation cap along with Japanese swords seems a little odd, even though it fits with the title. I like it, but it’s not perfect yet.
