Omg omg omg. I SOOOO appreciate it, especially coming from a fellow pianist. Keep in mind folks that I have only been playing piano for 1 year now…
I don’t know if you use this already, but check this out:
C.L. Hanon The Virtuoso Pianist; most editions have a yellow cover; around 7 bucks; I have a Munich edition with grey cover
This is an excersise book with 60 pieces ranging in difficulty from easy to extremely hard. The excersise method is to start with the first, learn the 1st one and play that every day. Then, learn the 2nd and play the 1st and 2nd every day in succession. Continue so forth. These excercises focus on mechanical improvement and will provide you with more finger precision, independence and strenght. You don’t have to keep this schedule absolutely strict, take your time with it and go on to the next excersise when you feel ready. Read the description texts that accompany the pieces carefully, they provide great tips and insight. Many great professional pianists play all 60 pieces every day, they have the time for it, of course. I’ll promise you, you will get better and enjoy even more playing the piano.
