Is it boring now?

Kostyan, how the hell do you manage to always make me spit out my drink in laughter!?

He’s got a promising career as keyboard salesman :bomber:

How many of the corps have actually tried out getting into a squad lately?  A couple weeks ago it was screwy, but how has it changed since?

I do place a lot of blame on the synergy change vs the old loyalty system.  You could grind loyalty in any ship and pick the best ship for the battle, now it’s grinding synergy because you want X ship in the next tier.  Without people picking the best ship for the mission it’s more likely to fall into a disorganized chaos.  One of the best things they could do to fix that is change the synergy to free synergy ratio to encourage picking the right ship while grinding a different ship.

World of guards happened. No need for any of those when you can fly one ship and be a king.

Really? Really.

The game is dying because guards?

Time to come up with a new catchphrase.

First it was World of Engineers. Then they had two guns removed and their heal range and survivability were nerfed into the ground. Now you’re lucky to find an Engineer who doesn’t hoard his heals for himself or explode while his team watches with dumb expressions on their faces.

Then it was World of Covert Ops when they first introduced the Plasma Sword. Frigates were 'sploding everywhere. Then they nerfed the speed and durability of all interceptors. Not surprisingly, interceptors are still being flown en-masse.

Then came World of Jericho LRFs with 4 or 6 on one side of the map bombing everything. Torp was made vulnerable to AMS again, and suddenly Jericho LRFs are… less popular.

Then came World of Guards with their aura debuffs and pulsar spam. First, the pulsar was fixed so it wouldn’t go through objects. Second, they nerfed the speed and stripped guns down to 4. Third, minefields were made exclusive to LRFs. Fourth, shield resistance was nerfed. Fifth, inhibitor and AMS modules changed to timed cooldown instead of toggle.

Guards are still flown because they are one of the most effective units to suppress large groups of interceptors. That’s their job. They have been nerfed more than any other class, and yet interceptor pilots are still calling for more nerfs. Why? Because they can’t stand the thought that a single large “dumb” ship was actually designed to counter them.

So they call pilots who fly them “skill-less”, “stupid”, “n00bs”, and “I-Win-Button Whores”. Guess what? If you take Zerglings up against Hellions you’re gonna have a bad time. Either pick a different unit that is a natural counter or stop crying.

bacon spam was so cool. because it was a group effort. it was not just one person spamming. it was actually a big global conversation, with the rule to come up with yet another sentence bacontaining bacon.

They renamed Global to English and now saying a word not in English or bacon when GM is near results in “please use English” soft warning.

but German and French people don’t care, sometimes is funny when GM trying to maintain the English and they still continue their “achtungs” :stuck_out_tongue:

[long post]

Goddamit, every time i read a guard vs inty post i can’t hold a laugh back.

Inty: ‘But… but… i cannot hero-solo them!’ D:   (cries)

Everyone else: ‘They’re not designed to be solo-ed you moron!’ >x(

They can still try “to ram them to the death”.

Well, in tier 2 and tier 3 a good recon player can try to solo an average guard player. parasitic gives you the buffer to survive the pulsar, and laser + mines gives you a lot of DPS.

The reason is simple: because it’s T2. And no, it’s a little harder in T3. T4 and 5 are a whole new different story.

Somewhere else i posted this:

T1-2: inty domination

T3   : balanced

T4-5: guard domination

But if you actually fly the right ship and setup and more importantly KNOW what you’re doing, there is NO domination case in either of them.

Yes, in T3 is a bit harder but is doable. I have taken down some Crus S with my Diam Dwarf and the Swarm.

In T2 is quite easy.

Not anymore, they can’t. Parasitic Remodulator got the nerfbat, you can’t survive the Pulsar with it.

Im a decent Inty pilot, but more moving towards the “Tackler” and “command”

Im having a hell of alot of trouble finding it fun to play these days.

Usually, when there is a bunch of NASA members on, ill be on as well, but we cant last more then a couple of matches OR we are forced to play in squads of 2…

Be a guard in T2 imply that you:

_do not have any self-regen modules,

_Have Only Timed debuff (AMS and MPI) and pulsar

_only 1 type of missile (Cruiser)

_No Hull/CPU/Engine slots

_No guard Rank 6 (if you do not buy the Crus Q)

_No ammunition to compensate the weakness of some Frig’s weapons.

That’s why T2 frigz can be easily solo-ed.

yeah, I agree with that, thats why you see interceptors in mass in that tier.

For some reason T3 is so boring to me, that I think I have over played it.

T4/5 is fun but there is SO few people in prime time america, that matches are like 3 v 3 or 1 v 1 with bots…

I went for gunships myself. No sense is flying a ship that has a snowball chance in hell of survival against most of the ships flying in the tier. At least you can have some speed with overdrive and engine overcharge and not feel like a braindead monkey could fly just as well as you because skill doesn’t matter.

At this point, ints could be removed from the game, and I don’t think anyone playing high tiers would even care. They’ve been gone from the tier for a long time anyway.

Pretty much this. Since the rest of the population found out that Ppurge is a hard counter vs ints, there is no use in flying them at all.

I still have a recon tho for revenge or last minute actions. Yet its pretty useles, PP triggers EB instantly and guards are still not easier to kill.

I had a real 1v1 Tormentor vs Nibelung today. He was pretty bad, but he had still time to trigger 4 Pulsars… i had no mines/rockets which are probably the only “real” dmg-dealer on those ships.

But the main issue in boredom is for me, that so few PPL want to squad up, since many feel punished for it by the MM.

On the other hand the Matches are too predictable: “Oh, you won? Well, then its time to loose for you, by giving you the biggest braintards as teammates the queue has to offer.”

Also the lack of basic understanding of the game is increasing… healers that dont heal i.e.

Its the tier rusher mentality, flying brainless and doing “something” like shooting with 12km lazors… ruining the game for PPL which like to have good and hard fights.

And here is an other problem: the fights are fought at long ranges with slow ships. Pretty much the same gameplay like “whack a mole”… it gets boring if you play it too long.

I really dont care if i loose or win given it was a GOOD FIGHT.

I’d squad up if I felt that my skill mattered in any given game.

Right now, it doesn’t. Playing a guard requires none and being excellent gives you almost no advantage over an idiot. And other non-frigate ships are just dead in the water right now, except possibly gunships.

As a result, it’s effectively impossible to have a good fight in the game right now. Matches are frigate slugfests, decided by meat vs damage. I might as well play a text based adventure “/fire laser/mortar/positron at target, /fire torpedo, /activate AMS, /activate shield regen mod, /move left behind the rock to regen”…

I’m experiencing more and more T3 matches where that happens: Team A is covering a beacon while Team B is 5k away, exchanging mortar/lazors/missiles like crazy and abusing a single asteroid in the middle to regenerate and latter pop-up to keep the exchange. I must say, it’s boring as hell.

Essentially, frigballs are back

They never left.

The frigballs is a natural reaction against IntiSwarm.
