I don’t understand how doing this would force anybody to do anything.
It makes it so everyone complains. If ppl like me who are sick of crappy rus servers and crappy eu servers complain alone, nothing gets done. If the ruskies start complaining, things will happen.

in order to make Russkies complain by putting them on the servers you want, you need at-least as many people forcing servers as Russkies players. So yeah… good luck with that
Only way for the devs to fix ping is to make it so they absolutely have to. This is how we get the Rus players in on it too.
ArcTic, if you ever want to jump on our TS I would be more than happy to explain ping in person as I don’t think your fully getting the concept. Ping cannot be fixed!! Ping is a tool to measure a reaction time once you have sent out a request. The 200ms response or higher that you get most of the time is due to physical distance from you, to the Servers. Unless you move your place of residence, you will not be able to reduce the number you see related to the Tool Ping.
From this tool it is possible to troubleshoot / diagnose very basic issues. However, as Error has pointed out many times its normally not on the servers.

I understand ping perfectly well. A ping from California to EU server should not be 210 ms. They have horrible server placement. They also don’t properly test. The rus server move and whatever they did with eu servers made things even worse and I have yet to hear someone say that their ping got better.
I don’t have the top ISP, but I do expect things to get better, not worse. That’s kinda what developing is, making things better.

What response time should you get ? Also do you know which hop in the path is causing the apparent problem ?
They also don’t properly test.
Saying they don’t properly test how do you know ? Also in some instances SC uses hosting services and as such other than complaints to the provider they are not at all responsible. They only provide the Application to put on the virtual or physical servers (they wouldn’t tell me which one they use.) That’s under the assumption that there even is a problem.

Your ISP selection is essentially irrelevant for this type of issue. Regardless of ISP you will still route over the same path to the same destination your response time will not be decreased.
(thats implying your using the same technology from the ISP . . . wireless vs home fibe is different but still would only relate to a fraction of the response time…)
Again if you ever want to discuss or do live troubleshooting to learn whats actually going on I m more than happy to. . . Normally on the OWL TS>

I should be getting 180 ping tops like in beta and 210 tops on rus servers like in beta.
To my knowledge, they never asked any US players to test their new servers. They should have NA, South American, EU, Rus, and South Asian players testing servers before they go ahead and move. It makes perfect sense. I get better ping on SA servers than on rus servers. Also, when the servers were good in the good old days of beta, they should not have changed anything. As soon as 1.0 came out, I had huge lags.
TBH I want to help, but either they’re too busy to listen or my posts are not getting forwarded to devs. I provided logs and everything they asked for and it has been my ISP every time even though other people with different ISPs have had the same problems. The servers aren’t having pl problems anymore, I commend the devs on that, but the placement is really horrible. All these server problems could be fixed by one thing though, advertising. More US players and more people will play on US servers. Also, they should look into better ping compensation. This is hard because they don’t have a large dev team because they don’t have money and they don’t have money because they don’t advertise. So all this comes down to advertising…
I’m getting an issue with ping suddenly fluctuating with some loss but ship fails to respond. Occurs randomly and sometimes fixes itself after a while but usually takes until the match ends…
