Yep a good idea, but this will put people off from buying them, so probably will never happen
I already making sure, that nobody else will buy them.
If I hadn’t done the frost missions, and if I had ranked up all my trees I would have been screwed!
Long time players with 15 15 15 rank and were gone on the holidays got shafted, and hard.
Yeah it’s all fine with the event bit it would be nice to get more neodium from os or have a more dedicated place to search. Currently and hour of flying around nets like 4 plates worth and I need 20. Flying around in a relatively pointless grind especially considering I have a cruise tackler r15 I fear for those that can’t avoid aliens as easily 
Is there any guide to where farm easy resources for destroyers and with what ship/equipment?
I farmed what I needed from imperial transport hub.
I’m one of the lucky ones, though… I had not gotten far in the empire tree, so a few rank ups saved me from having to craft a bunch of heavy components. One rank gave me 4 reactor modules! That would have been easily weeks of play through farming…
I agree that the containers are a rip off. I believe that 100GS would be better for what they provide you.
However I don’t see them as a ticket directly to destroyers, but a “Ok I can’t stand this anymore, I just need a few more neodium and It’s done…” kind of thing.

i give up destroyer farm realy fast. first i think i get all fraction to r15 but now i get less for that.
maybe i should farm with max synergy ship at r8 r11 ?
maybe open space ore farm better?
