Developer Blog from September 8: Autumn Plans

This is my first post in this topic and I just want to say some little things.

First, I can feel the discomfort of the imminent updates since in the current year we have seen a lot of changes in this game, some good and some bad, but I really fear the possibility of another great Nerf Update. I’m not here to talk about OS/PvP/PvE/Coop rewards etc but about all those little nerf updates that slowly rendered the whole game experience more and more focused on the GRIND that is necessary to obtain something different from a normal ship. I am fearing the possibilty that the next updates will steal us all our sweared work and remove from our inventories all the loyalty vouchers and upgrade kits we gathered.

So this is the question: PLEASE DEVS DO NOT REMOVE ANYTHING FROM OUR INVENTORIES WITH THE NEXT UPDATE! If you need to do it just give us a method to get rid off of every obsolete item (like upgrade kits) in a wise and usefull way. For example add a “salvage every selected object” function in the workshop/store.

Also: please devs tell us if we have to fear any loss or nerf and/or tell us if we have to prepare for it in any way.

Another last thing: I have read down the thread the idea to give the players the opportunity to buy ship parts for credits. Here is my version (if you like it just quote so I’ll open an official poll).

Every sunday (for example) give EVERY player the opprtunity to buy a ticket for 10GS, with this ticket you can access a special section of the store in which you can buy ship parts for credits. My idea is 100k credits for one metal blank (cheapest part), 600k credits for one graphite plate, 2M credits for one neodium plate, 3M credits for a beryllium rod (most expensive part) and every other part for a reasonable proportional value (if you like this idea I will create a balanced price system for the official poll). The ticket has a limited effectiveness and you can only buy 10 ship parts with it (or spend 10M credits for parts), even thought you can buy as many tickets as you want with the only particularity that every next ticket costs one more GS (for example 11GS for the 2nd, 12GS for the 3rd and so going on) (just an idea) and every next “ticket event” (sunday) the price resets back to 10GS.  In this way we can give both the players and the devs the opportunity to earn something in a different manner. I also think this system should also include ship components (for the premium ships) with a pricing of 1M credits a part (for example: 200M credits for the Archelon). This system must NOT include monocrystals, vouchers and iridium.

Let me know what do you (both devs and players) think about this idea. ![:)](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/001j.png “:)”)

Damn right!

For Aulex: the idea in self is great but we already get a 10m pack who give those rare items, and also every 5 day we get one of those for free who will drop us a ship part. That thing is the pack is just too expensive and no one buying it… I mean cmon 10m for 1 item… you can get 5 if those for free in os, so no not worth it at all. And about your idea ship parts, be able to buy the one we want for credits is cool for sure but I don’t think ppl gona spend that ammout of money+gs  to get them( we also get bundles pack for each ship) think about low lvl player who haven’t even 7m

Nah, because I left the game when they introduced the 3 month of farming to get a single ships.

Well, taking this from a different perspective,if you get all the things you grind for you will have pretty much no reason to play the game, that’s why they are trying to delay it,so you wont run out of tasks to do,I don’t mind grinding Brokk parts for months, but after a few weeks it became REALLY monotone,so a little diversifying will always be welcome, now I understand we will never have infinite different scenarios but something different rather than winning 10 battles can be welcome, why not get the ship parts like we are getting the special module ones,it will either be harder or easier, but as much as they are PvE(cuz 12 is the max rank for Co-op)im sure anyone should be able to complete them since T5 PvP is full-on skilless chaos so I’d rather not touch that,or make Co-op available for rank 13,that should be much easier, just saying…

I disagree with the first sentence. I play for fun. I play to win. And what better chances are than with maxed out ships?

However I agree with suggestion of the grind to be less boring and to give people some other options (over 2000 Fire Supports in a row can get to you…).

What is the required amount of point to reach karma 3? :o

I have no SP ship either… I just didn’t find farming OS for months on end appealing.

Back to topic however, nerfing progression is not the way to go to retain players. I have spoken to quite a few newer players and usually when they unlock a destroyer they immediately begin to farm for it, and that’s why I’m afraid that newer players are burning themselves out or outright quitting because of the grind. Sure, Veteran players can manage the endless grind, but a player who had joined less than 2 months ago wouldn’t be expecting that at all. As I have mentioned many a time beforehand, Destroyers are not premium ships and should not take excessive amounts of time to obtain. They are standard ships, albeit bigger than a frigate and more dangerous, but they are still standard either way.

I said this before too. It’s a shame that a whole class so different then other ships requires as much farm as a premium of the same rank.

Justify the grind by giving them 20% free synergy and free repair. Or reduce the grind so casual players can also play this class.

Expecially when farming neo/beryllium in OS is so boring, and r8/r11 ships suck so hard.

But well, I have my Antares so I don’t care anymore.

The Grind Wall is fine as it is for them. The grind shouldn’t be reduced to allow casuals to play the class, it is a project to be worked on and shouldn’t be obtainable in a few hours, else the game would be flooded with Destros…you can’t please everyone without destroying balance.

Honestly, I don’t see the grind as being fine for them right now, mostly because in Rank 8 right now when you use max synergy ships you have a chance at getting, Reaper parts, Phoenix parts, Neodium or Monocrystals alongside other useless drops. I didn’t even bother trying to get any sort of information for Open Space given how damn useless it is.

They have no way to complain while are getting rank up rewards, already being handed hundreds of monos for easy levels…and those parts are supposed to be low chance since they are premium content being given out for free. They still get enough parts to build a secret project and above as they progress lets not forget that.

No, for an easy reason : You get them too late. Because once you have it, you’ve already maxed everything in the specified rank and should be playing one tank above.

Consider this: You still play on lower ranks in Corporate Battles. This balance is not only about personal progression

They are standard ships, not end game content like SP. Right now it takes more time to build a destroyer from the scratch then going to r15 in all factions.

Especially when you can farm fire support for easy synergy and money.

PLEASE DEVS DO NOT REMOVE ANYTHING FROM OUR INVENTORIES WITH THE NEXT UPDATE!

There will be nothing removed from inventories, nothing will be changed without your consideration. We will deliver the opportunity to everybody to get rid of the kits by yourself in the niciest way possible. It will be easier and faster to upgrade modules, and loyalty still can be collected in the depository. And there’ll be no nerfing progression. According to the stats, pilots’ progress is on the same level as it was year ago, and became even faster for the beginners. With the new loyalty upgrade system it will be even more faster than before. And, of course, new Destroyers and ships will be coming soon.

>>And there’ll be no nerfing progression.<<

Is a lie. You remove Mk 2 kits from lootpool IS a nerf.
You can’t upgrade to Mk 2 then(only with credits after that). NERF.
You can’t salvage Mk 2 kits for resource(s). NERF. NO lootchance can outbalance this nerf!
Do you think we are fufu minded or what?
EXPLAIN YOUR SYSTEM!

>>With the new loyalty upgrade system it will be even more faster than before.<<

EXPLAIN IT GODDAMIT! You throw pieces of useless info at us and say it’s an improvement. No clear data, screenshots or explanation from your side!

There’s no uptade yet, and you already writing that something is nerfed. A little early to make a statements about things yet to come. And I don’t know where did you get info about mk2 kit, but it’s not looks like what will be at all. Can’t talk about some things for now, but upgrade will be happen just by earning loyalty on every stage (except mk5), and will be cheaper and faster than before. When I will know the extact details I’ll let you know as well.

Here for you to check:

‘There’ll be no more green in the game loot.’

There you state CLEAR no green kits in loot pool. No green kit = no upgrade to mk 2/salvage option.

Your ‘promoted system’ can look like:

A) Like the old system:
State Mk 1 equipment you buy from storage/get with ship buy/craft from workshop.
State Mk 2 can now only be upgraded via credits or even only with loyalty. NERF
State Mk 3 loyalty(reduced I guess). Buff
State Mk 4 loyalty/purple kit/iridium. Small buff for those that have the last two not.

B) New system:
State Mk 1 equipment you buy from storage/get with ship buy/craft from workshop.
No state Mk 2. Stats/balance is included in Mk ‘3’ or Mk ‘4’ or both. HUGE NERF
Mk ‘3’ loyalty(reduced I guess). Buff
Mk ‘4’ loyalty/purple kit/iridium. Small buff for those that have the last two not.

Okay how would this system affect people:
Currently you get with (guessing) 5% chance a green kit:
You collect one. Now you either use it or salvage it(or deposit it for further use).
A) You didn’t the wanted green kit - salvaged for resources. + resources
B) You got what you wanted - mk 2 equipment now. +equipment

After:
You don’t get a green kit - because it isn’t anymore in the loot pool.
Instead you get trashy credits trash(5k jokes). THANK YOU.
A) You need now up to 1M credits to upgrade to Mk 2 equipment. - Credits!
B) You CAN’T even upgrade anymore for credits so you need loyalty now! -Resources
-loyalty
-equipment

So HOW is your fufu system NOT a fail?
EXPLAIN IT!

You don’t need to test a missile hitting a human to know HE WILL DIE FROM THAT.

Lord. Stop complaining.

Have you ever considered the fact that you can still salvage mods?

Or the fact that mk2 disappear and mods mk1 can be salvages for the resources?

Or that mods takes only one or two battles to upgrade to mk2?

You’ll say “Yeah but mods cost credits!” Yeah bbut mk2 upgrades cost 3 times more then the mod. So in the end, if this is like this, it will cost only a few credit for the buy + upgrade + scrap.

Wait for the update. You’ll see how it goes. I’m sure they aren’t stupid.

Well, they did some pretty stupid things in the past. Let’s hope that they get it right this time.  ![:576a55a9bca5d_):](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/576a55a9bca5d_).png “:576a55a9bca5d_):”)
