Developer Blog entry from October, 10th. Update 0.9.8.

I was thinking about any T4 and T5 blues you have unlocked and didn’t buy yet, those are like 1 mil per piece and I was saving for a new ship. I will rather spend it on gear instead. Can always farm credits later, loyalty I’m sure not that fast.

Wonderful

We will see what we get

You might actually be better off just upgrading those from Mk.I, but we won’t know until the patch.

was refering to the lack of visabilaty still cant rly see it. as i said before the arccursy of the crosshair i know is hot fixet a week a go but that dident realty do the job… but what does it help when i cant see were im aiming with my crosshairs… sigh. so sorry the hot fix did nothing for me

It’s been fixed TOODAY.

It is almost as it was 4 weeks ago now… so not perfect but visible… something u can live with for a week.

The blog entry says, that Military loot did not suffer devaluation, but the MK2 gained value.

I got that  but devaluation does not mean, they become less good, it means, they become less of the value they had, because they were drops, so it was a lot of playtime to get them.

It is nice that MK2 is getting better through it.

I can live with it, I meant only, those who had hard times finding items in the last couple months, and sit on tons of green items for their next tier, lost a bit with this, on the other hand however, the new system still sounds better.

I can hear however how masses mourn all the artefacts they gave to their corp

Let us explain this system in more detail:

  • Mk. 1 can be upgraded to Mk. 2 by means of credits or upgrade kits.
  • Mk. 2 can be upgraded to Mk. 3 by means of loyalty or galactic standards.
  • Mk. 3 can be upgraded to Mk. 4 by means of upgrade kits or artifacts.

Thus, our players will be able to quickly get the most advanced modules, while freeing up space in their warehouse!

I will try to form previous above discussion in this topic into a form of a question:

Do you have any hints to give to us on how much would modules cost in this new loyalty-currency? Will the prices be just converted 1:1, so if one module costs now 500 000 credits, it will cost 500 000 loyalty-currency to upgrade?

(which would be quite expensive, as one can only dream to get over 7 000 loyalty gain from one game).

EDIT: Clarification, I’m of course talking about upgrading cost, from MK2 to MK3 when talking about cost/price (read: cost to upgrade).

Primarily positive changes - but can someone clarify if the 4-man squads actually made it back?

I don’t have access to the game until much later today. This is and remains one of the main reasons I am hardly flying now. (from 100s of matches a week to maybe 5-10 maximum, some weeks almost none)

If not, this would be very disappointing. I remain directly opposed to the attitude on tilting the balance. This is a match making failure, not an issue with squad sizes.

We cannot disclose this information at the moment, wait for the patch and you will see it with your own eyes.

So actually, Jesus exists, didn’t expected such a great patch, too bad it’s the next week and not today.

I was so tired of losing GS trying to get experimentals and know I will able to get them via artifacts, I can’t wait to have full purple ships!

  • All Mk. 2 modules and weapons will be replaced with newer versions. The existing “Military” modules will be renamed to Mk. 2.

Didn’t quite fully understand this part, I understand military grade modules will be renamed to Mk.2, that’s simple enough, but what do you mean with Mk.2 modules will be replaced with newer versions? Not just a rename? Will they still be between the Mk.1 and military version in terms of quality? So like an Mk 1.5?

Will they be closer to Mk.1 or to the new Mk.2?

They will be replaced with military modules, renamed in Mk. 2.

Ahh, so Mk.2 and military are being merged into one, thanks.

Out of 6 words I have for this patch, I have 3 things to say against this patch: “No lag fix.”. The other words are “Very well done.”

However… Giving free reigns on people getting their hands on Experimental gear might make the whole thing trivial… I don’t quite agree with this as I believe it’ll just spawn way too many purple-fitted ships, ESPECIALLY this far into Artifact collecting… I do hope this won’t completely break how Corporations gain Iridium due to personal gain…

Actually. Corporations are gonna be starved of iridium now…

yes, we would like to test things out a bit more.

The comeback is possible, but this is a very difficult situation. We would like our players to be able to fly with more friends, but this should not tilt the balance in matches too much, as it was before.

No to 4 man squads.  Or have some scaling penalty.  Group with a friend, no penalty.  Group with two friends -10 to all resists.  Group with three pwn-stars in an attempt to rig the matches to 100% wins and Star Gem Entertainment hires mercenaries to fill your underwear drawer with fleas, replace all the salt in your salt shakers with sand, and fill your browser with BHOs like Conduit.

make  HUD  in style of REAL LIFE   fighter   like  F22  or Hind

Oh and let me go on record as NOT being excited for the loyalty change.  I’ll admit the loyalty system is horribly broken as is.  My guess is that it will remain horribly broken next patch.  They havent mentioned the prices, and since this game’s launch on Steam I have never seen a change designed to make you grind LESS.  Every change has been to make you grind MORE.

I cant see this as being any different.  I highly doubt we are going to log in next week and say “sweet, these prices are actually reasonable!”.

Why does this sound bad to me ?

I have to agree with you.

So in preparation for this patch, what is the best course of action?

  1. Grind Credits

  2. Grind more loyalty.

  3. Buy all the MK3 you can.

  4. Possibly buy all the Mk2 items as they will be changed to Mk2 (military?) (please correct me if im wrong)

Horde EVERYTHING. For the next week, I will go back to T4 to grind money and sometimes jump to T2 to grind up some ECM ships.

Yay, good update!
