I spent nearly 5k on the loot option prior to this update. That got me 2400 iridium. I made this poor choice due to the claim this was going to be the most valuable resource according to Cinnamon Fake. With 5k gold I can get 4 5x container of any other bundle and get way more in return.

did already tell it some Posts before. the idea is nice to get Containers for iri but the amount of dropped items should be 3 times higher to make out of a good idea a good Thing. as Long the drop rate is as low(for iri and gs Containers) the whole Container Thing will not be used by me. did once buy a Container for 10 000 000. did open my eyes wht it is. not worth the time!
You didn’t. You are assuming and speculating. You didn’t verify it, so you don’t have grounds to say that the drop rate is too low. Too low for what? Time invested in gathering 500 iridium? You don’t even know how long it takes (I know). No one cares if you will buy a container or not. Seriously. Also I spent 2.4 billion credits on this totally useless container for 10 mill credits, which gave me a lot of monocrystals, some parts for premium ships and rare materials. For credits that otherwise would be useless. That container was designed as a credit sink and if you had to think if you can afford it - it wasn’t for you. As from this point, please stop speculating about drop rates and time to get required amount of iridium, as you didn’t even bother to check that.

Works aren’t all equals. Some win millions in a few hours. Some don’t even get a thousand for a month.
This works with SC too. You can farm t1 bots in OS, or you can go to more dangerous sectors. And it’s just an example.

Of course it’s not. They said it clearly : The 10 millions credit bundle is to make vets be able to spend there billions of credits on something. Not to win money, just to give something to vets because they wanted to. A credit sink.
Don’t spend your credits on it if you don’t have billions of them.
And maybe it’s exactly the same thing here with iridium : Something where you can spend the iridium you don’t need anymore, until they add a real use to them. Like for the BIG UPDATE coming this new year who knows ?

They introduce a bundle, that takes way longer compared to mk 4 upgrade to buy.
But they don’t increase the loot of iridium?

Now you can buy a container for 1M of those thingies.
Now one just give you random
1 credits(99%)
1 mono(0.1%)
1 shippart(0.9%)
You get from a loot spot only 1 unusabtinium.
Now you say IT’S WORTH IT?!(because it can yield mono/shippart)

I am sorry, statement without hard data are speculations by definition of it. You don’t have hard data, you are speculating. I cannot and I won’t tell you what to think, but you should adhere to the forum rules with what you write.
Sorry, OP for a little OT.
Guaranteed iridium drops were added to first battles in Coop and PvP modes. Just yesterday I earned from the loot ~340 iridium. From 10 containers I got 22 monocrystals + some other stuff. So if it would mean for me I will be earning extra 10 monocrystals per week - that’s still more than nothing. I can live with that.

Iridium container doesn’t drop credits. At least you will get a monocrystal. And iridium drops a lot more than before, if you would bother to check - even pvp and coop has guaranteed iridium drops in first battles… Basically if my yesterday experience would be a typical one I would say Iridium drops in loot has increased about 60%.
Also - may I ask - who are you referring to as being stupid?
You can’t compare the credits bundle in the same way as the iridium one.
For iridium you have NO alternative to spend it on(to give benefit directly to you).
Credits can be spend in multiple ways.
They could easily done way better with iridium.
Upgrading to mk 4 with iridium instead of loyalty.

If you’ve skipped this whole writing that doesn’t have a basic flow and just left this line, without dropping insults left and right it would be a valid argument in this discussion.
I get the feeling the folks complaining about the iridium bundle are still in the mindset of “I need 120 iridium to upgrade each module to mk. 4”. Which is plainly not true any more. Iridium is now used for corporations to build dreadnoughts, and – buy bundles, that’s it. And the iridium drop rate – I don’t know if it’s higher, as niri says, or lower, as some other folks seem to be saying, but I can tell you it’s in the vicinity of where it was before. Save for the corporation 5 iridium contract, but that’s a totally different matter.
Now, yes, the iridium bundle is horrendously expensive, just as the credits bundle is. And yes, both of them don’t drop terribly valuable things on average. That is a legitimate complaint, and an important one to have – if the playerbase is satisfied with what they have, then what do the devs have left to do, after all? But it’s not like iridium is used for much else right now. Why not spend it on the bundle once you get enough? Or, y’know, take the 20 iridium : 750k credits tradeoff in the loot screen, if you’re short on that. My credits income has absolutely skyrocketed after the last patch, from this change alone.
I can’t tell you what to think. But whatever you believe, please try to avoid being an arse.
