disintegrator is actually pretty useful against guard frigs and engis. If you have good ping, they’re easy to hit inties with too.
Set up for sniping, Empire LRF can be pretty deadly with disintegrator if you can hit stuff. It allows you to have curved reflector on your beams so if anything gets close, that’s all it does.
Also, 2 tacklers vs enemy captain with beam weapon = fail XD It’s just like my 42s combat recon with the Black Dragon ;p

It’s only good to soften them up. Main weapons deal more DPS and are consequently better for taking down beefy ships.
Also, with main weapons you’ll actually be moving and staying with the team, unlike most people who sit in spawn with F activated all match, diddling themselves.

Vs frigates sniping maybe not so good, however tachyon charge can finish interceptors and fighters, the other one can deal a nice hit of 15k thermal damage, which if you catch smaller ships sitting then they blow up nicely. Can also help team get that pesky frigate.
A proper sniper build also has sensor range which will aid your team. Nothing worse than trying to shoot at the end of a set of lasers, coils, rails, or worse, positron cannon.
