It was just fine when I used it. Still able to destroy rank 8s and 9s just the same as rank 7s.
It was a very close game,… the scores don’t really tell, but our team didn’t hold the beacons for quite a long time and it was a heated battle.

You can see one of the guys in the enemy team has a “1)” on his name. His squad mates will be surely out of the top places in the board.

Blood Tormentor with and vs a team with barely a rank 9 ship. I thought MM stopped counting Premium ships as 1 rank less.
If he played in “low population” time it combines w/e in a queue so r7-r9 at least it used to. On top of that we do not see full lineup of pilots participated, plus there is a guy who is definitely R9 (Styx) and the rest is unknown, so it is hard to say if it does or does not reduce MM rank by 1, from this screenshot.

Cerberus would not have an Engineer icon to it (at least that is how it looks to me) 
If anything it could’ve been Garm, but we don’t mix tiers atm

One of them is from a bot so I guess there are a couple of guys with R9 in that game.
Tier 5 these days… they couldn’t even kill a single ship.
