Solaris Wasteland

Solaris Wasteland is a rank 7 open space map with every kind of alien the game has to offer . the weakest of them have 300 resistance to everything and 200,000 HP they have 500% increase in main weapons damage and they swarm the spawn gate . if you target one of them on the map the entire map targets you , follows you at 600 MPS and wont stop targeting even if your invisible ... I used to be able to cancel this mission but now that Ellydium has only 2 missions and I hate doing 2 transports I sometimes have to do Solaris Wasteland . could we get a meta change in this map PLEASE !!!

Hunters have 54k HP and -100 thermal resists. Predators have 120k and -100 resists. Their radar detection range is up to 5km. Their visual detection range is 2.5km. And they are going to your last known location if they lose the contact. Take something that can hide - recon, tackler, LRF, covops. LRF is the easiest but it's most boring. Damage one from the group, let them detect you. Cloak, RT. They will go to your last position. And they will stay there for almost 2 minutes all in the range of doomsday/cruise explosion. Snipe them (don't use the main gun), EM torp them, whatever. Rinse and repeat. 

The quest predator has less HP than the normal one. Positioning is the key here. If my Acid Hydra can do this, so do yours :)

This quest should is the most annoying of them all.

I have read the hitchhikers guide as well ... but your maybe not going of the 1.5.... patch , these f*ckers follow me at 4500 m while I'm invisible and turning they change direction ... maybe the range is 5000 m for the weapons but the 2500 m range for detection is WRONG time and time again also if i shoot the predator while he's alone the rest of the map targets me , chases me .and follows me while invisible for 21.6 seconds in a Peregrine .... maybe your not visible to the hoard at 12000 m while under scatter field but I am at 5600 m in a Peregrine and they follow me as I cloak . the map is ridiculous and needs to be looked at , not justified by one player who probably never goes there .

I went today to that sector after reading your post and those values are based on that flights. Covops is one of the least  feasible ships from those 4 I listed due to short range weapons. And yes - most of them will flock and close in on your last position. And no - 2500m visible detection is right - verified that today.

-Escort 2 transports in Ellydium base.

-Destroy the Predator in Ellydium base.

-Destroy the hunter in Leviathan zone.

 

So first of all there are at least 3 of them. Second: all of the missions i have listed are not in Solaris wasteland. Now i am curious.

You need to know a few things, solaris as a map is crazy for a loner, they lock you on in groups and at 4-5k distance straight on. I used to go there in wings of randoms to farm synergy, fun times. Covops invisibility wont save you once u get a lock on and they will see you if u get under 3k-ish even with the invisibility. They will follow you forever in most cases in any map, especially predators. Most people never learn to adjust their sensor range to the average npc detection range, thats how i learned to not raise any lock-ons.

The hunter one got taken out due to bugs so you only have 2 missions now.

It is. I just went again there with Peregrine as OP stated - tried 3 different scenarios - kill a particular alien, kill structure an kill cyber transport in one flight around the sectors. It is doable in covops, but hard. I can post a video later. There is one more thing looks like if they will go to your last location, their visual detection range drops to 1k. I used it to my advantage and I was able to fly along the alien group less than 1.5k.

the last patch broke the hunter  it no longer exists and you ALWAYS get the 2 transports on so you waste your cancel for the day

I used to do it in a Tai'Kin before I got my Peregrine , I know its doable but hard ... I'm saying that the map is stupid hard and UNDOABLE to any player other than a veteran !!! the map needs to be reworked in EVERY way to make it playable to the average player . I NEVER loose this mission , I cancel it if I can and do it if I have to ... it takes the same amount of time to kill it with a interceptor as it does to fly a Tyrant to the map . It gives no real reward for the difficulty level , synergy , karma , drops Etc.... EVERYBODY hates this mission . IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED !!!

On Taikin that mission is a breeze. Same with any Imperial LRF.
