Legacy events and easter eggs

Just as a note in the middle of the night for the sake of getting it out there before I forget it, I suggest that there be semi-rare events and enemies that spawn in various game modes and have great rewards like the old random Otherworld warp gate where you could mysteriously warp in to their world instead of to your destination. Things like this that people think are fake for a while need to be a thing still. Like stuff that sounds like someone telling ghost stories until you see it for yourself. Like a phantom crystallid that is like no others that drops 250 iridium on kill and can randomly spawn from a portal literally anywhere at any time. Or pirate raids that happen during PvP battles or in OS. They would be super weak compared to the old biomorphs in PvP event, and give lots of credits for killing them. Like a bounty.

Other cool stuff would include finding ultra rare ship parts in debris in OS or in loot that unlocks blueprints for a super secret ship. Likewise for weapons and modules.

There just needs to be more benefit for players that actually play. Like things that nobody can buy, but they must find instead. And these things need to be truly powerful or worth-while. This would demolish anyone's argument that the game is P2W as well, because the OP-ish or unique stuff would only come from playing the game lots and being super lucky.

 

But don't make them as rare as good MC loot or those random achievement parts like sonic screwdriver etc. That is hella too rare because I know like 10 people that have ever seen them. I personally only have 3 parts (I think) and haven't seen one since OS got its loot nerf.

 

 

But my point is just this:

Bring back loot exclusives and super rare random events and enemies that spice up the game and give great rewards. It would be like in the old days finding "Experimental" equipment that was better than anything else but only obtainable through loot and kinda super rare.

AND FOR FK'S SAKE DONT HORDE IT ALL TO R15 OR THAT STUPID "MAX RANK" THING. And don't make it impossibly rare or hidden. (Unless it is spoiler/easter-egg.) Just make it rare enough that someone can't rush in and find it after only a few hours of flying. **Not so rare that there are still only rumors of its existence after 2 years.**

Yes, please, more random content. Mainly for OS. The current cycle of killing aliens/pirates and then they respawn is boring.

For rare items we need first a place to show others what we got.

Just to create content: Why don't conquer sectors? The current 'aliens are in retreat' theme are currently more of a 'lore' thing as a mechanic.

Every sector have a specific amount of ships etc. in it.
If this is complete depleted, the sector is conquered by the remaining survivors(either aliens, pirate or factions).

And at least 1 unique stuff every week/month so basically only 1 player got it. Yet we need a bigger profile window or something to show or beloved prizes.The prizes can't be monetized by themselfs, but like happens all the time, players will use their best builds and it drive more income into premium ships.

 

About rare stuff everybody can obtain without time restrictions. We should consider holding a rare item forever can be bad in the long run, because in the end everybody will get everything. So a mechanic to make people choose between rare stuff to hold and to leave could be necessary.

 

The events can appear in the window to build squads. Once they start the event, players should appear in the desired sector instead of traveling through multiple gates. I even did a simple suggestion on how to populate OS-PVP sectors easily not so long.

But we have Sector Conquest for that, I'm sorry, but I need half of my playing time to help to hold those sectors.

Depend on the rare item if it's useful, useless or even OP.

To the sectors: Sector Conquest is PvP and not OS. There is currently no relation between both.
And I'm not touching it with my suggestion. I will change the INGAME sector presence. If you eradicate all pirates, the remaining take the control of the system(either the invading aliens/cyber or the faction itself), meaning more presence of the new owner. But for this the number of ships would need to be drastically increased to avoid 1-man single ruler(1 person is enough to kill nearly most of the ships in a sector) in this case. If a big squad/wing rumble in a sector and kill most enemies, then an additional script could take place leading to an 'invasion' like event to reinforce the threatened party. And if this is repelled(annihilated) then they enabled new owners.

Don't know if this would be a thing to motivate a group to do things in OS.

I was refering also to items not usable in the game. Only for show.

I now understand better your suggestion about OS sectors. Also we could get a mission to erradicate a faction/aliens from a sector. To do that we need to build a special structure(beacon) and hold it. Then waves of other ships attack. The whole process should take 20 or 30 minutes. To make this interesting, they could give a monocrystal to all those who participate in the squad, but force them to go with station protection off. So other players have something to hunt. I forsee hate and flame between some players/corps, but we need this kind of wars in OS. Ofc players in the squad can call others for help.

I never go to OS with station protection off because is pointless. The last time i did i was 1 shot by a Thar'ga. I was traveling with an inty from gate to gate in a low level sector. Those players who hunt other players in OS are bored. They need carnage. Mining is hard enough these days with low amount of resources.

There could even be more things introduced(multi-sector missions aka transporter escort). The thing is the payout(reward), length(time) and difficulty.

I would be 120470200% OK with never having to do an escort mission ever again. They are the actu worst missions and are unbearably boring and difficult. 0/10

something i'd love to see is... seeing the secconquest battles happen before your eyes during OS. like you could just see two dreadnaughts above the map boundaries fire at eachother without displaying actual players.. for optimisation of course, and also out of the map so you cant interfere or idk.

and by easter eggs you mean world bosses? would be nice to have a boss or pirate/alien raid that spawns every 12 hours randomly on any sector unnanounced or just "a boss has spawned somewhere in jericho/empire/federation space!". and that you'd have to spot it, then go back to the station to ask your corp or english chat to group up to take them down.

 

Another idea would be squad-tier missions in OS.

missions you can only pull off with teams, like clearing an area of pirates (that wont respawn during the mission).. so like some sort of PVE-type mission in OS.

I wanna see more teamwork and reasons to fly together in OS..

Well, it isn't about OS only, then it is in the right section. However most of the suggestions aims to OS because it fits better than other game modes the "events and easter egg" idea.

+1 Also ways of turning mining players into event players in OS could be a good idea. For example: Stay alive 15 minutes in a OS-PVP sector and you get an impure neodium/berylium. Ofc you can't hide because like captain in recon game mode you are visible for everybody. After completing the task you need 15 minutes to be able to repeat up to 5 times/day.

I am not a fan ot transport missions. However multi-sector missions are a must. Like i said once,let players be able to create missions for OS.

Nobody is going to sit in OS for 3 hours just to get 5 impure neo/berry/etc. That is a terrible idea.

Instead, howabout every X alien or pirate kills that you get, you get a guaranteed monocrystal/neo/berry/etc. sent straight back to your personal hangar.

Rewards can be greater. I think guaranteed rewards are better than lottery rewards. 15 minutes in PVE or PVP can grant you more, but it is random.

In fact rewards could be incremental by time. Nobody take the mission it increases. Even ultra rare rewards sometimes should be given.
