Dear conquerors of the Star Conflict Universe!

This topic is designed to collect and organize the players' questions towards the developers as well as their answers. In order to provide a better overview and easier search, this topics' priority will be focused on game related content in January.

Answers are usually given daily on weekdays. Developers will read all questions, but questions which are not clearly defined, which are obviously stupid, which are lying on the "surface", or which violate the rules of the forum, will be ignored and deleted.

How to ask questions:
Formulate your questions as clear as possible. Try to ask only important questions. Use the search function before asking any questions, some questions may have 
already been answered.

The following rules apply to this thread:
1. Posts that do not contain any game related questions will be deleted.
2. This thread is not for suggestions. Any suggestion posted in this thread will be deleted.
3. Any discussion in this subject will be considered as flame and offtopic and will be punished appropriately.
4. The questions are asked towards the game developers and therefore only they can respond.
5. The thread will be cleaned at least once a week. This means that all player posts will be removed and the questions will be added to the developers answers as a quote.
6. The topic will be closed on the last day of the month and a new will be started for the next month.

I just can not say anything more about first 2 questions, you just have to be patient ;)

3 - Soon, very soon.

4 - We have a plan for it, but, once again, without specified terms

if the new faction includes any ships/modules/perks etc. will we get such a thing as reimbursement if we already own this ship/module/perk etc. ? I'm not pointing at any speciffic things, but if it happened that, for example, some premium ships (let's say shark) moved to the new faction, and was no longer a premium ship obtainable with prem currency only, would I get the premium currency back, because I could have obtained the ship a different way, non-premium way?

 

 

Also, please, hold on with the new faction. The game is very imbalanced, (cough *grav lens and a whole destroyer problem* cough) and adding a new faction would most likely bring a lot more issues.

Premium ships will be fine, we will not change them for now cause they're Premium. If we will, it would be done very careful.
And remember, I didn't told anything about new faction, except that we have it in future plans. ;)

1. You honestly, really, truly believe that introduction of destroyers, is a good addition to the game?

1.1 A supressor class really needed? Wasnt guard with coils or blaster suppressive enough?

 

2. How many of you actively play the game?

2.1 How big is the dev team?

 

3. Do you need a modeler? :D

1 - Honestly, really, truly believe in every decision.
1.1 - For some players it's needed. I don't except any possible future changes though.

2 - Star Conflict team always plays Star Conflict, like every day, literaly.
2.1 - Several dozens people on two pretty big projects

Will R14 destroyers have access to another weapon?

 

I ask since every class right now has access to at least 1 double-up of a damage type weapon wise (Frigates have the Heavy blaster and beam cannon, fighters have gauss cannon and rails, inties have RF blaster and plasma gun)

 

Will Jericho get a SP ship for its LRF line?

 

When the OS overhaul eventually comes around, will cruisers be a more prominent object in game and not just lore-wise?

                       -Will Corporate Dreadnaughts have a physical presence in owned sectors?

 

Will the SA server eventually be available for OS?

 

Will there be a second class of destroyers that focuses on team support rather than suppressing fire?

 

Will Guards be buffed to allow them to hold up in PvP against Destroyers and other high DPS opponents?

 

How will the grind for Destroyers be scaled down?

-I ask since the majority (Actually the majority, not just speaking for those who are vocal) have complained about the grind for these ships   being far too much for a R8 and a R11 ship. Even with the increase of survivability, is the potential of burning out masses of players warranted for to just hide a ship behind a grind wall?

 

In the video for the "Dogs of War" update, it was mentioned that the Kraken was created without the use of any alien technology.  Why does the ship require Monocrystals to craft if it is created without the use of alien technology?

3. We looking for a way to make something new with it's mechanics.
4. We're continuing to improve every server's functionality. So, it could be happen someday.
5. We have some similar ideas, but not in the near future.
6. Won't happen for now.
7. Still to early to make any statements about it. Some details of a new system could be changed, but not much.
8. Balance. It's all about balance.

Ok,as i get the feeling i'm the only one who prefers to play OS more than anything,im more of a exploration guy,a open-world sandbox,stealing and upgrading stuff with fully customizable ships,heck,i just talked about Kinetic Void,whatever,im really looking forward to the OS update,and in the 2nd place are the R14 destroyers,i got 420 MLG Silicons,so im MOAR than ready for that Jery dessie,i wont mind getting hit with some spoilers thou. #answerfastcinnamonbunspls

1) How is R9 Beta accelerator Gigas II balanced compared to SR mark 3?

How to interpret 'each enemy marking you as their target'? Does this affect small turrets/rak turrets/anything non-ship as well?

2) Was the GS-hull for credits a mistake(bug) or a feature? If the latter applies will this happen again and/or maybe for the GS-scanner too?

3) Will there be a rebalance of the sector 'transport hub'? The 'escort the transport' mission is incredible difficult to achieve for R7-R9 ships due mostly 1-2 predators in his way.

4) Were some of the designs influenced by the X-Series?

5) Are/will be upgradekits for destroyer modules lootable in PvP/PvE/vsAI?

6) Will there be a shortening of waiting in PvE missions(especially in multistage ones)? Because waiting 30s - especially in a preformed squad - is wasted time and that up to 3x(!). Like a ready button for every player to give the okay to start the stage immediately after all have clicked ready(else the rest of the 30s wait timer go on).

1- Didn't got you about comparing( About affecting emenies - yes.
2- Feature. But can't say anything about future features.
3- No plans for rebalancing it at the moment.
4- No, our design was an original work of our artist. Btw, I'm personaly a fan of X-Series.
5- Could be.
6- MM system is improving all the time, that's one of our priorities

Since the focus on teamwork was removed from PvP (note: PVP - not leagues, tournaments and other modes the majority of people don't play) the overall quality of players seems to have dropped considerably. What are your thoughts on this?

If you meant squads, they will not going back in the near future. They was a game breaker in it's previos state. So we're looking for an oppurtunity.

3) In the last year you have added lots of new gamemodes, splitting the population somewhat. Is it your plan to keep going along the same line, or do you plan to start merging compatible gamemodes? For example: sector conquest and open space; PVE and open space; league and sector conquest...

(power of destroyers indicate the need to show off superiority and dominance) (ps: im aware that removing entire class of xxxx now is impossible and impractical, but now you dont have a triangle, but..some kind of a weird cubish something.. i hope we can at least expect that to be balanced because its ridicioulus)

1.2 Then you are aware on how BAD apperance of destroyers messes up tactical gameplay of ordinary player?

1.3.Then you are aware what does ONE destroyer do in a match?

1.3.1 And you find that right and neccessary?

If you mean that destroyers are OP, then I'll say that they're not. Our ingame game data says that all pilots statistics hasn't much changed. It's hard to get one and it's another kind of gameplay. There're things in the game to use against destroyers, and pilots do them.
You can check out the guides about destroyers, and we welcome you to the suggestion section, if you have some ideas about them.
Current classes will not be removed, but they will be getting needed changes in the future, acording to the game's evolution.

It just seems like rocks in space are so much deadlier than bombs and conventional weapons. We just need a rock warper module.

Are the developers who can work on and fix Linux SteamOS Star Conflict issues still there? Could we get them to attempt a Linux SteamOS SC login and see why It doesn't work?
